00:00We've come out with something that I really, really love, like slaps, I think, yeah.
00:11Why was Talk Talk the song that you guys felt like was right for your remix?
00:14She did the whole remix album, so there's like a remix for every song and she chose me for Talk Talk.
00:20When she was first working on Brat, she sent me Talk Talk and I loved it, obviously, and
00:24it was really cool, though, because what she's done with this remix album is like,
00:28it can be, some of the remixes are kind of a more maybe traditional feature where the person
00:34has come on and just, you know, is on the second verse, kind of like doing the same melody, but
00:39maybe changing some lyrics, but, you know, kind of like that vibe. What she said as well, though,
00:44was that she wanted some of the songs to, she's like, I don't care if you use one word from the
00:48original, it can be a completely new song, but use Talk Talk as like, you know, a seed for a song.
00:55Essentially, we sampled Talk Talk and created an entirely new pop song out of it, because I said to
01:01her, I was like, okay, so if it's a remix, is this like a six-minute long club song or is this like
01:08a pop song? And she was like, no, no, it's a pop song. I'm like, okay, cool. I had so much fun kind
01:12of like taking the scissors to the song that I really, really love and getting to kind of like
01:18chop and change and whatever, and we brought in kind of like the Rush team and worked on it and
01:23then sent it back to Charli and Charli sent, did her thing, sent it back to me. It was just kind of
01:27like this really fun collaborative process and we've come out with something that I really,
01:33really love. It like slaps, I think, yeah.
01:41I feel like you guys were such students of just like pop, you know what I mean? Because those old
01:45school remixes were that way. Yeah. They were completely changing and now I feel like it's
01:49gotten away from that, but I'm glad that you guys are returning to it. Totally, yeah. I think the
01:52way that Charli thinks about music is so, so, so inspiring to me and I think it's about pop and,
01:58you know, we both, I think, feel like we, it's almost like, yeah, we went to the same school of
02:04like pop songwriting or something like that where it's like we both have our obsession, this like
02:09deep, weird obsession with Sweden and I know that we both like tried to learn Swedish at different
02:15times. How's that going? Terribly for me, maybe Charli better, I don't know. Thinking about pop
02:20in the same way just makes us like kind of like natural collaborators where we just keep coming
02:26back to do the same thing again and again and again. More with Troye Sivan coming soon. The
02:30Talk Talk remix is out now.
