Youtube Killed Hauraki Naturally
In September 2024 after over a year and a half of content creation, YouTube Killed Hauraki Naturally channel.
Youtube cited Deliberate sexual gratification as the excuse, highlighting a 1/2 second image of people resting during a hike.
I am sure you will agree with me that YouTube has not acted within their own guidelines, rather, in a manner that does not reflect the content and results in a defamatory false comment in respect to the conduct of Hauraki Naturally.
I am sure you will agree when you see the facts that the content was not pornographic in any way, and that the content, and the channel were unfairly removed.

00:00What happened to Hierarchy Naturally YouTube channel?
00:04It was there one day and gone the next.
00:08Why?
00:21Well, these are the questions that we're asking ourselves.
00:25Because YouTube does not have the capacity to be able to answer them for us.
00:29The only thing that we can determine from the lack of response
00:33is that YouTube has terminated Hierarchy Naturally because the channel was gaining momentum
00:39and getting close to the point where it would likely become classified as a professional content creation channel.
00:45YouTube has a number of hoops to jump through to become a professional channel
00:51as opposed to just uploading content for public awareness
00:55and Hierarchy Naturally was getting closer every day as the channel grew in popularity.
01:00To put that into perspective, the content creators have spent about a year and a half creating content,
01:07uploading content, providing backlinks to the videos, which were pointing people to YouTube to watch the content.
01:13Essentially, Hierarchy Naturally has spent the past year and a half promoting YouTube for nothing.
01:20So what was the reason for the channel being terminated with immediate effect and with little or no reason?
01:27What happened to the YouTube system that has three strikes?
01:32What happened to warnings?
01:35What was the severe abuse situation that warranted the channel being removed without prejudice
01:41and Hierarchy Naturally being blocked from having a YouTube account?
01:46Well, to determine the reason, firstly we need to look at what is acceptable and what is not, according to YouTube.
01:53YouTube allows nudity for educational, documentary, scientific or artistic reasons.
02:01For example, a documentary showing nudity in a tribal context is OK,
02:07such as a documentary of the Zoe tribe that allows those members of that tribe to be going about their daily life in the nude.
02:14YouTube allows nudity as long as the content is not to sexually gratify the viewer,
02:22or as YouTube says, if your content contains pornography, we may terminate your channel.
02:29So it's clear, nudity is OK, depending on context and circumstances, as long as there's no sexual content or pornography.
02:38So why did YouTube take the Hierarchy Naturally channel down?
02:43Last week we had a video that was already marked as 18+, so suitable for adults only,
02:52removed with the remark that the picture on the page was classified as intended to be sexually gratifying.
03:00It was in the outro, and the photo was taken when members of the Hierarchy Naturally group took in some sun as they were resting on a hike.
03:10The photo itself did not have any pornographic material whatsoever, and was certainly not intended to be sexually gratifying.
03:19Furthermore, although there was a man's genitals in the picture, they were at a distance and would have been pixelated if viewed by zooming in.
03:28We appealed the removal to the YouTube monsters, and the appeal was denied. We can only assume by an automated process.
03:44As the video was a documentary relating to a walk that members had on April 23 at a place called Watapu in New Zealand,
03:56I personally reviewed the video and removed the entire outro from the video.
04:02This removal changed the end of the video to a more generic ending with no pictures whatsoever,
04:09to ensure the video was not confused with the previous one.
04:13As soon as the video was uploaded, the channel was struck down by YouTube.
04:18I can only assume this is because the YouTube machine falsely determined that the alleged offending content was re-uploaded in its entirety.
04:29Again, we appealed this removal to YouTube, this time with the channel itself,
04:34outlining in the claim that we had removed the alleged offending content of the video,
04:40and highlighted the belief of Hierarchy Naturally in the freedom of expression and the non-sexual nudity that the channel stood for.
04:48As was expected, when you are dealing with a faceless machine, you don't have the ability to enter into a dialogue.
04:56No meaningful discussion.
04:58It merely serves as an additional waste of time and resources while you are banding your head against a wall with this headless YouTube beast.
05:08We have uploaded the video to a number of other platforms that all see the video as what it is,
05:13a documented report of people going on a walk on a beach.
05:18We encourage you to share this video, copy this video, and use it to highlight the issues surrounding freedom of expression.
05:26Remember, when you are dealing with a machine, you too can become removed for no reason.
