Northern Territory Police say they're investigating a crash involving a cattle truck and The Ghan passenger train this morning north of Alice Springs. More than 200 passengers were taken to Alice Springs by bus and there were no reports of any injuries.

00:00The GAN was carrying around 220 tourists on its way from Darwin to Alice Springs when
00:08police say a cattle truck collided with the passenger train's second locomotive.
00:14They say the accident was reported around 10 o'clock this morning at the Altunga Crossing,
00:1845 kilometres north of Alice Springs.
00:21While the train and truck were damaged, police say no injuries were reported.
00:26A spokesperson for the GAN's operator, Journey Beyond, says the passengers were bussed back
00:31to Alice Springs and would depart on the next leg of their journey to Adelaide this evening
00:36as planned.
00:38The truck driver was treated for shock at the scene and was taken to Alice Springs Hospital
00:42for further treatment.
00:44Police say they're investigating and NT WorkSafe has also been notified.
