Courts Club: Manchester’s most interesting outside bar

  • last week
Courts Club is changing the game in the world of interactive bars.

Instead of standing in a bar that has made room for darts or pool, the magic of Courts Club comes from its real-size tennis/basketball court.

I went along to give the games a try and talk to the assistant manager there.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo and today I'm here at a special new kind of bar
00:06and that's because
00:07It's outside and it's an actual tennis court or basketball court. Now for someone like me who loves all sports, a place like this is a
00:14Dream, particularly because I'm the best shooter to ever live
00:25Now tennis is much less my sport but
00:29Given the offer of sipping a couple of cocktails and coming out here and having fun with my mates. I can still see the appeal
00:42So after a very hard-fought battle, I'm absolutely exhausted so I'm gonna go inside
00:47I'm gonna talk to some of the staff, you know, learn a little bit more about Corn Club
00:51And maybe try a drink or two as well. So my name is Will Ward
00:55I'm the assistant manager here at Courts Club. Yeah, I think it's just such a great venue
01:00For Manchester as a city, you know in general
01:03Being able to get away from kind of the city life
01:06You've got the basketball, the tennis, space to chill out as well, whether it be watching the sports
01:12We've got going on the television, enjoying the drinks, the food offerings
01:15It's nice to get away from kind of the city vibe, but while not traveling too far a distance
01:21It really is clear how brilliantly unique Courts Club is and surrounded by office buildings like it is
01:26You still get a massive amount of sun down here. In terms of drinks
01:30What we've got here is the Courts Club Lager, which is their house lager. At the minute
01:34They're offering things like limoncello spritz, Aperol spritz
01:36But as it gets closer to winter, we're expecting a move towards boozy hot chocolates, stuff like that
01:41So it's definitely worth giving it a go. In terms of food, you've got a great couple of options
01:44If you want something bigger, they've got a partnership with Lucky Heroes
01:46Which has a sort of hut out here in the garden. If you want a lighter bite, they have got some great-looking toasties
01:51This is a cheese. They've got a bacon and pineapple too. I definitely recommend giving Courts Club a go
01:55Come down, get here while it's still sunny, but even in winter, there should be something for you
