Transcript
00:00My name is Willie Benter and I'm running in the Hopkins River Ward, which encumbrates
00:07Allansford and North East Warrnambool.
00:10The reasons why I've nominated this year is because our voices haven't been heard.
00:18I've advocated many a time on many issues and to no avail, so I've said, well, enough's
00:24enough.
00:25I've put my hand up to come into the house to see if we can do better for the community.
00:32Allansford's been left behind, the bridge is a major concern, we've got no footpaths
00:37to the playgrounds, so we're just not getting heard, East Warrnambool's not getting heard.
00:44We've got to be smarter in our future, in our developments and our city growth.
00:52We've got a major project about to hit the table in the next five years with the East
00:56of Avalon Road project, so we need to have the road infrastructure in place before it
01:02happens so we haven't got the issues that we're having now on Wollaston Road, so it
01:08just makes it better for the city.
01:12We just need to look at our spending because with the increased costs on everyone's houses
01:20and cost of living, we need to make sure the rates are sustainable and used wisely for
01:26the community in regards to that.
