00:00and I am standing in the Central Ward for Warrnambool City Council elections.
00:05And why did you decide to run in the Central Ward?
00:07Well, I've been a Councillor for the past four years
00:10and I served one year as Deputy Mayor and one year as Mayor
00:13and I feel that in our four years of being on Council
00:16we've actually been very functional, we've got a lot of projects completed
00:21and we've got a lot of groundwork with new projects
00:24and I would like to see them come to fruition
00:28and I'm very happy to be able to represent the Central Ward
00:32where I have lived and worked for too many years probably.
00:36And what are the priorities for Warrnambool and for your ward?
00:40Well, I'll talk about the priorities for Warrnambool to begin with.
00:43Obviously we'd love to see a new aqua zone, we have a lot of planning in place for that.
00:47We have planning in place for a new art gallery.
00:51For the Central Ward there's a few things that I think we really need to address.
00:57Number one is I'd like to see a better and newer vaccination centre.
01:03We all know the importance of the health and wellbeing of our community.
01:07By having a new vaccination centre we can address those needs better
01:13and encourage more efficiency in that area and help the staff.
01:18I'd also like to see our CBD greened up more.
01:22I'd love to see more trees, more planting, a more beautiful CBD.
01:27And lastly, promotion of business and bringing more business to Warrnambool,
01:34supporting the tourism factor, but also as well making sure our CBD is safe and welcoming.
01:42So I think that's really important to get that message across.
