00:00The Trade and Industry Department will study the increase in prices for the main products of the Filipinos.

00:25The price of a kilo of sardines is 200 pesos more.

00:27Meanwhile, you can only buy sardines for 30 pesos.

00:30Compared to other dishes, it's more affordable.

00:34According to the Department of Trade and Industry,

00:3760 shelf-keeping units or products have a high price,

00:41such as sardines, bread, water bottle, and soap,

00:45which are full of expenses for raw materials and logistics.

00:49The Canned Sardines Association of the Philippines

00:52has been asking for 3 pesos more for sardines for the past year.

00:57This is the result of cutting production costs for cans, cans, and oil.

01:01They did not act on the request of the sardine manufacturers.

01:07That's why we are complaining.

01:11Three companies have already suspended operations.

01:16We want to awaken the DTI.

01:21According to the Association of Small Businesses,

01:24the increase in the price of bread in the SRP bulletin of the DTI has a big effect on their business.

01:32not only the low price of the pastine that helps the consumers.

01:40They should look at it as a basis

01:43so that we, the small players, will be able to decide

01:48why the pastine and pandesal are cheap.

01:51Why the community baker's pandesal does not have a high price.

01:57It affects our business if the price of pastine and pandesal is low

02:02because it becomes a point of comparison.

02:04The DTI will study the requested price adjustments,

02:08but it will not allow more than 10% increase in the price.

02:12We need to really balance everything to be able to come up with a correct decision

02:18whether to increase the price or not.

02:24The agency will monitor the price monitoring of the main buyers.

02:29When the DTI went to a supermarket in Quezon City earlier,
