00:00I was diagnosed with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in January 2021,
00:14but it was a slightly late diagnosis because it had been a long time since some symptoms had been noticed.
00:22Then, in the last year, they were presented much more severely.
00:27So, let's say that I lived with cardiomyopathy since my adolescence.
00:35Then, after receiving this diagnosis in a hospital,
00:41immediately after the diagnosis I was told everything I could not do anymore.
00:47And so, let's say, a gray life was foretold to me, let's say, a life a little in the middle.
00:58Let's say, I did not resign myself to what I experienced at the beginning as a sentence.
01:08I immediately did some research and I went to Careggi Hospital in Florence,
01:14because there is the Italian Center for Cardiomyopathy Treatment.
01:20And there, there was a completely different approach to the patient,
01:25and I was given the hope that with the right therapy I would have had a much better quality of life.
01:33I believe that initiatives like this are very important,
01:36especially for people who are at home and feel alone,
01:40who may have received a diagnosis and feel it as a sentence,
01:46as a sword, as something that really upsets you.
01:51I say not to stop, not to be discouraged and to go all the way,
01:56to find specific centers where the treatment has gone on.
02:02There are improving solutions, not to stop at the first obstacle,
02:08at a first diagnosis, but to go deeper.
