00:00For you, as Executive Chairman and founder of AccuWeather, what does it mean to be a part of such a special week like Climate Week?
00:07Well, it's an opportunity to learn and also share some of my opinions and participating in some roundtables.
00:14What should be considered in the future when addressing the impact of extreme heat, whether that be individuals or potentially even businesses?
00:23You have to know when it's going to be hot, when we'll feel AccuWeather temperature.
00:27You know, we have the only sun temperature and the difference between what it is in the sun and the shade can sometimes be very dramatic, particularly when you're talking about extremes.
00:36So keep checking the AccuWeather app so you know when these threats of extreme heat can be a threat to your safety and your health because it sneaks up on you, particularly, you know, in the summer.
00:48We invented the heat wave counter and severity index as another way of letting people know when there's going to be extreme heat.
00:56And, of course, heavy rain is the other threat that we need to be concerned about because as the temperature rises, the air can hold more water vapor and so the threat of greater rainfalls are there.
01:08So as you move through the rest of the week, you're going to be sitting in on a number of key panels, speaking to leaders and other organizations, having those important conversations.
01:16What is your main goal this week?
01:18To learn and to share my opinions where it can be of value and also talking to companies that can benefit from the AccuWeather forecast and our severe weather warnings, particularly as it's around life-threatening hazards because that's what we specialize in.
01:33People who use our forecast and our apps don't realize that an important part of our business is providing superior accuracy forecasts and warnings to businesses.
01:43We serve more than half the Fortune 500 companies and thousands of businesses that use our forecast to keep their employees and their customers safer.
