Nagsigawan at muntik pang magpang-abot sina Senator Alan Peter Cayetano at Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri sa sesyon ng Senado kagabi. Ang tensyon, nag-ugat sa resolusyong nagmumungkahi kung saang distrito isasama ang mga Embo barangay na inilipat sa Taguig mula sa Makati.

00:13The tension was rooted in the resolution that came out

00:19that was moved to Taguig from Makati.

00:22While this is not there, the voters will not be able to vote

00:25in the place of their congressman in the upcoming election.

00:29The outcome of the vote will be determined by Ma'am Gonzalez.

01:25The two senators are fighting for the Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 23

01:30signed by Cayetano for the Embo barangays

01:34or Enlisted Men's Barrios.

01:37Makati used to be a part of Makati,

01:40but it fell into a territorial dispute.

01:42In the Supreme Court's decision in 2022,

01:45the jurisdiction was transferred to the city of Taguig.

01:48However, there is still no law in force

01:51regarding the congressional district in Taguig along with Embo barangays.

01:54While this is not there,

01:56Comelec said that more than 200,000 registered voters

01:59will not be able to vote

02:02for their congressman in the upcoming election.

02:05In a session last night,

02:07Cayetano asked to discuss the upcoming resolution

02:10where the district will include each Embo barangay

02:13because the situation is urgent

02:15and the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy is near.

02:18But his question is vague.

02:20This was not in the daily agenda.

02:22This particular issue is on the disenfranchisement

02:25of these 10 Embo barangays.
