00:00Officials of a barangay and members of the MMDA challenged those who were standing on a street in Quezon City.

00:10They allowed a barangay ordinance to pass.

00:13But according to the MMDA, it was against the city ordinance.

00:17Joseph Moro was found guilty.

00:22Almost no one can pass on the sidewalk of Valer Street in Quezon City

00:26because of the illegally parked motorcycles.

00:29The targets of the MMDA's operation are not clear.

00:32If there's a driver, it's P1,000.

00:35If there's no driver, it's P2,000.

00:37In Kalawag Street, motorcycles were also found parked near the vacant lot.

00:42There were also private cars that made a garage on Ilagan Street in Barangay Paltok.

00:48But the first ones to complain were the barangay officials

00:51who told the MMDA that they allowed one-side parking on the so-called street.

00:56We were told that we have one-side parking.

00:59Where is the city ordinance?

01:00Every end of the month, we transfer it to...

01:08The one on the side. We alternate.

01:12This is what the residents know, so they were surprised that it's prohibited.

01:16Every morning, the barangay is going around telling that one-side parking is allowed.

01:22According to the MMDA, one-side parking is allowed on some streets,

01:25if not many people pass through here and it's not a two-way street.

01:29But it's not enough that there's only a barangay ordinance for this.

01:33The MMDA said that there's a city ordinance that should be approved here.

01:37It should be approved by the city.

01:39This is not a mobile lane, but this is considered as one of their major roads here in Barangay Paltok, Quezon City.

01:45Because the barangay has no city ordinance,

01:49five cars were arrested.

01:51In Del Monte Avenue, Quezon City, a SUV was arrested because it passed through a sidewalk.

01:56The MMDA said that they will continue to arrest people because even though there's a city ordinance, it's not being followed.

02:02It's expected that their operation will be extended and widened.

02:06Christmas is just around the corner.

02:08We will double up our intensification of the operations

02:11to ensure that the flow of traffic in our streets will be proper.
