00:00When Bear Bryant was there in Tuscaloosa, and then when Nick Saban was in Tuscaloosa,
00:10they had it.
00:11They had it.
00:12I mean, like the it thing that we're talking about.
00:14And then they had seven coaches that didn't have it.
00:18And then I don't have anything bad to say about DeBoer.
00:21I just know that that football team doesn't have it.
00:24No, and you're exactly right.
00:27It's a unique place, and having coached at three universities in Alabama, and having
00:33coached against the Crimson Tide, I have a great feel for it.
00:37It's hard to be the head coach in Alabama, because they can sense it.
00:41It's a unique personality, and the players and the team are a part of that team.
00:47And so Bear Bryant, then seven coaches, then Nick Saban.
00:51And I've said before that DeBoer was a really good choice.
00:55I just wanted to see how he would react to it.
00:57And right now, I don't think they can go into LSU and beat LSU at night.
01:01I just don't think, see that Alabama team doing that.
01:05I mean, this guy Kelly, his best work has been under the lights at Death Valley, and
01:13not during the sunshine.
01:15In the daytime, they've been beatable.
01:16At nighttime, they've been unbeatable.
01:19I tell you, I've coached there in the nighttime a lot.
01:23It's almost impossible to win.
01:24The crowd gets bigger.
01:26They get louder.
01:27It's a tough place.
01:28I think they've been drinking all day, but they are hard to beat.
01:32I've been there with Florida State.
01:34I've been there with Auburn.
01:36And I'm telling you, it's the most unique place you've ever seen.
01:39They say Texas A&M too, and I've coached there as well, is about the same.
01:43But I don't think at night, there's any stadium tougher to beat.
01:46And I don't think Alabama is going to win this one at LSU this week.
01:49Well, listen, I've been to both.
01:53And I will give you that Kyle Field is unique, and it's the 12th man and all the rest, and
01:59they got a big crowd and a lot of people there.
02:02But it cannot, I'm sorry, it cannot hold a candle to Death Valley.
02:07Let's stop here.
02:08I mean, I'm not at Kyle Field.
02:11I got seven or eight stadiums better than that.
02:13I'll be here all day.
02:14I'm here all the week.
02:16I'll tell you better places to play football.
02:19And you know it.
02:20You know it.
02:21Well, you know, like I say, I live in Louisiana now.
02:25I've coached at ULM.
02:27I've been here, and I coached against them.
02:30But it's still, and I have coached at so many places.
02:33I have been to Michigan.
02:34I've been to Southern California, to Alabama, to Georgia.
02:39It's a unique experience there.
02:41I do have to think it's something to do with the personality of the Cajuns and the way
02:46they react at night.
02:49It's an incredible experience.
02:51And I don't think Alabama, I think, I mean, Alabama's a good football team.
02:53I don't think they're as good as LSU right now.
02:56If LSU can get rid of throwing, if they can run the football just a little bit, I think
03:01they win the game.
