00:00Henry the Green Engine has lived on the island of Sodor for many years.
00:06He wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
00:09He likes every part of it, from the fields filled with flowers to the white sandy beaches.
00:15But there is one place that Henry always enjoyed visiting more than any other.
00:21His driver knew this, too.
00:23Come on, Henry, he would sometimes say. We've made good time today. We'll stop for a while by the forest.
00:30Henry loved it here. The forest was full of broad oaks and tall pines.
00:46Henry could remember the day long ago when he and Toby brought some new trees to be planted
00:51and Terence and Trevor helped haul them into place.
00:55Now he could see the trees growing amongst the others on the hillside.
01:00Henry always felt better for being here.
01:03He couldn't really explain why, but his driver understood.
01:07It's peaceful, he said to Henry.
01:12But one night, everything changed.
01:21The engines were resting in the shed.
01:23Listen, said Thomas, can you hear a strange whistling sound?
01:30It's the wind blowing outside our shed, replied Toby, but I've never heard it like this before.
01:36Do you know, added James, if Gordon wasn't here now, I'd say it was him thundering by with the express.
01:44All the engines laughed, except Henry.
01:48I hope the wind won't harm the forest.
01:53By morning, the fierce winds had gone, but the damage was done.
01:58Henry's driver came to see him in the yard.
02:01Trees have fallen on the line, he said. We must help clear the tracks.
02:09Donald set off with the breakdown train and Henry followed.
02:15Trees lay everywhere.
02:20The hillside now looked so bare.
02:23Henry felt sad.
02:25What will happen to all the animals who live here, he thought.
02:34When Henry's flat cars were full of logs,
02:37he took them to the timber mill where they would be turned into furniture and other things.
02:45Henry was glad the wood was being put to good use,
02:49but he was still sorry to lose part of his forest.
02:53Oh dear, sighed Toby to Thomas.
02:57I wish there was something we could do to make things better again.
03:00Yes indeed, replied Thomas, but what?
03:03We can't mend broken trees.
03:06Hello, Toby, said Sir Topham Hatt.
03:09You do look glum.
03:11I'm sad about the trees, said Toby, and so is Henry.
03:15The forest is a special place to him.
03:18Now some of it is gone.
03:20We'll soon put that right, replied Sir Topham Hatt.
03:23I have an important job for you, Toby.
03:26I would like you to take some freight cars to the forest.
03:30When the freight cars arrived, Toby was delighted.
03:33They were full of splendid young trees, all ready for planting.
03:39This is the best job I've ever had, said Toby happily.
03:46When Henry returned, he was most surprised.
03:49There were Terence and Trevor busily helping the workmen clear the torn stumps and branches.
03:55Look, Henry, called Terence. We're beginning again.
03:58The hillside will look better than ever before, you'll see.
04:04Now, whenever Henry stops by the forest, he can see the new trees growing strong and tall.
04:10Sometimes, everywhere is very quiet.
04:13And at other times, Henry can hear leaves rustling or a bird's wing brushing the air.
04:18Often, he can hear the distant sounds of the wind.
04:23Often, he can hear the distant sound of children laughing.
04:26And always, he is happy here.
