00:00Well, the discussion here in Beirut for the past 24 hours, after the announcement of Hassan
00:07Nasrallah's death, is what did he die from and when is his funeral?
00:12We don't know the second part, when his funeral is going to be, but today we have information
00:16about his body.
00:18His body has been recovered by paramedics and what they have said was that it wasn't
00:22blown up as usual, as from other strikes.
00:26He was actually, he died from the shock of the explosion that took place in Dahiya, in
00:32the southern part of Beirut.
00:34His body, according to paramedics, of course, his body was intact, there was visible injuries
00:39on him, but it wasn't, there weren't any parts that have been significant damages.
00:44So there were some injuries on his body, some visible injuries, but the reason why he died,
00:50the paramedics are saying, is because of the strong shock wave of the explosion that took
00:55place in Dahiya.
00:56Now what else we do know is that Ali Karaki, who was another prominent figure in the Hezbollah
01:02organization, who is a commander, actually for the south command, responsible for doing
01:07operations in the south of Lebanon, was also killed in that airstrike.
01:11And Nabil Kaouk, who is another prominent figure in the Hezbollah Central Committee
01:17Council, who was also pronounced dead yesterday, on Saturday, from the airstrike, from another
01:24airstrike that took place in Dahiya.
01:25So you can understand right now, it's been a significant blow in the hierarchy of Hezbollah.
01:30A lot of them, in the past week, have lost their lives, like Ibrahim Akil, on another
01:34strike in Dahiya.
01:35So the question now is, after all these people who have been killed, who will replace Hassan
01:40Nasrallah and be number one in the hierarchy?
01:42There's been a lot of names that have been around, there's been a lot of rumors, but
01:45we don't know who is going to be the next head of Hezbollah, since the organization
01:50actually has not revealed its papers yet.
01:53Yeah, eventually Hezbollah has experienced some defeats over the past week, and Lebanon's
01:57Prime Minister, as we heard from the clip just now, is saying this could trigger the
02:02largest wave of displacement the country has ever seen.
02:05And what is complicating the situation right now, is there are also some Syrian refugees.
02:10So where are these people going?
02:16Correct.
02:17We know during the civil war in Syria, a lot of families, a lot of people fled and came
02:21to Lebanon to find a shelter, to find refuge.
02:24Now those same people are actually fleeing back, because of what's taking place here
02:30in Lebanon.
02:31But not only in the southern part, all over the country.
02:34Because we have to remind here that the escalation that has taken place is not only in the southern
02:39part of Lebanon, but a number of places, especially here in Beirut as well.
02:43Thousands have fled their homes, from the south especially, it's been over 100,000 that
02:48have left their houses, finding refuge in schools, in gymnasiums, in hospitals, in anywhere
02:54actually they can be accommodated, provided with first aid and whatever they need.
03:00But Syrians, 50,000 Syrians are returning back to Syria because of this conflict.
03:04So we're talking about right now a large number of people fleeing.
03:07And as the Prime Minister here in Lebanon said, it is very possible that we can see
03:13up to 1 million people displaced, the worst humanitarian crisis that the country has
03:17seen since 2006, during another war between Israel and Lebanon.
03:21So you understand right now it's very much of a problem that we could lead into another
03:25humanitarian crisis.
03:27And I want to point out a little bit here that Lebanon relies heavily on foreign aid.
03:32So if more people are displaced, there's going to be more foreign aid needed.
03:37And we don't know right now if the Lebanese government could be able to provide that to
03:41the people or if the international community could be able to provide that.
03:44So we're definitely, if things escalate the way they're going, we're definitely looking
03:47at another large humanitarian crisis here in the country, larger than that of 2006.
