00:00This year, every 3rd week of October,
00:02Mechanical Engineering Week is held.
00:05At the same time,
00:06the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers
00:09will hold their 72nd National Convention.
00:12And to give us more details about this event
00:15and to share their other exciting preparations,
00:19we will be joined by Engineer Jeresty Ramillan,
00:22the Chairman of 12 Field March,
00:25and Engineer Archelle Bakuli, the Chairwoman
00:28of the 72nd PSME National Convention.
00:31Good morning to all of you.
00:32Good morning.
00:34Good morning, Ergie and Ryan.
00:36Okay, sir, ma'am.
00:37Well, this coming October,
00:38the 72nd PSME National Convention will be held.
00:42What is the relevance of this?
00:44What is the importance of this
00:45in the industry of engineering?
00:48The importance of this is
00:50to unite mechanical engineers,
00:52CPMs, and students of mechanical engineering.
00:57And we invest in the Filipino products
01:04to support the Filipino program of our government.
01:08We support it with locally fabricated equipment
01:12so that we can compete with other countries.
01:16Yeah.
01:17The PSME National Convention
01:20is an important venue for mechanical engineers
01:24to learn and develop new technologies.
01:28Because here, we have a lot of speakers,
01:32manufacturers, and innovators.
01:35It's an opportunity for all mechanical engineers
01:39to advance their careers.
01:42What are the main activities
01:45that are part of the 72nd PSME National Convention?
01:48Our opening is a sports festival.
01:53We also have plant tours.
01:55Number one, our manufacturer is air conditioning.
01:59And we also have trainings.
02:02We also have forums for women engineers.
02:06And we also have technical conferences.
02:09And we also have a lot of activities
02:12that are explained by the Chair, Jerez.
02:14One of the main activities of the National Convention
02:18is what we call the Philippine Machinery Exhibition.
02:22Here, we invited manufacturers,
02:26suppliers of new technology and products.
02:30And here, they showcase their new products
02:35related to mechanical engineering.
02:38You mentioned earlier that there will be
02:41different conferences and forums.
02:43What is the topic of this?
02:45Yeah.
02:46In PHILMAC, this is special.
02:50For this year's PHILMAC Exhibit,
02:52we are proud to say that we organized
02:56four mini-conferences.
02:58We have a water conference,
03:00we have a fire conference,
03:03we have an energy conference,
03:05and an air conditioning, ventilation,
03:08and refrigeration conference.
03:10For each conference,
03:12there are four technology topics.
03:14Like in the water conference,
03:17here, they will learn new updates
03:19related to the standards of the Philippines
03:23about water handling and management.
03:25Also, there are topics here
03:27that will be given to our visitors
03:31about managing industrial waters.
03:34In the fire conference,
03:36there are updates about the fire code of the Philippines.
03:40And there are also topics here
03:42about how to take good care
03:44and manage the properties and lives
03:46of the industrial sectors.
03:48And for energy,
03:50here, we will learn
03:52how to manage
03:54and make the energy usage
03:56of each industrial and commercial sector
03:58more efficient.
04:02And, of course,
04:04there are also topics here
04:06about updates of the EEC law of the Philippines.
04:08Sir, you've mentioned about
04:10conferences, trainings,
04:12and are there any notable speakers
04:14that we can look forward to?
04:16Yes, we've been invited a lot.
04:18We invited Engineer Hansi,
04:20he's also a mechanical engineer.
04:22Engineer Ramon Ang from San Miguel.
04:24And we also invited
04:26our DILG Secretary,
04:28Benhar Avalos.
04:30So, those are our big time conferences.
04:32Okay.
04:34Are there any workshops
04:36for other visitors?
04:38Yes, we have workshops
04:40like the Mea Divisional Workshop.
04:42We also have a workshop
04:44for women engineers because, as you know,
04:46we are just a few mechanical engineers.
04:48As in, we are just a few.
04:50So, we invited
04:52the speakers
04:54and notable engineers
04:56from different organizations
04:58so that
05:00our mechanical engineers
05:02can be strong
05:04and outstanding
05:06mechanical engineers
05:09even though we are just a few.
05:11Okay. You've mentioned about the trainings.
05:13Maybe a lot of people will be interested.
05:15The question now is, is this open
05:17for non-members of PSME?
05:19Yes, of course.
05:21Because we also have
05:23what we call electrical engineers
05:25because they are the siblings of mechanical engineers.
05:27And
05:29there are a lot of people
05:31who are not mechanical
05:33but their business is mechanical engineering
05:35services. So, it's
05:37open for everyone
05:39although there are more delegates
05:41of mechanical engineers
05:43because we have 151 chapters
05:45nationwide and
05:47international. We have a lot in the Middle East
05:49and other countries like Singapore,
05:51Japan, and Bahrain
05:53and other countries.
05:55So, in those 151 chapters,
05:57we have
05:5950,000 plus members
06:01and we're expecting to grow
06:03more and hopefully,
06:05our government will support us
06:07to strengthen
06:09mechanical engineers.
06:11Because we want the mechanical engineers
06:13to be powerful, influential,
06:15and relevant to the society.
06:17I forgot to mention.
06:19This is very important for them to know.
06:21The Filmac is not only open
06:23but it's free
06:25for non-mechanical engineers,
06:27especially for
06:29facility managers
06:31and practitioners in all
06:33industrial and commercial sectors.
06:35So, they are very welcome.
06:37So, our countrymen who are interested,
06:39do they have a website
06:41or a Facebook page?
06:43Yes, we have this website.
06:45Just go to psme.org.ph
06:47So,
06:49you can see all of our
06:51events there.
06:53Thank you so much, Engineer Geresti Ramillan
06:55and Engineer
06:57Archelle Bakuli
06:59for visiting us.
07:01I hope the 72nd
07:03National Convention of
07:05Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers
07:07will be successful. Thank you so much, Sir Mark.
07:09Thank you so much, Sir Audrey and Sir Ryan.
