00:00I'll break up the Baltimore Ravens.
00:05Their demise was greatly overstated.
00:07They are right back in the mix in the AFC.
00:09They've looked fantastic over the last couple of weeks and, you know, really honestly could
00:13have won any of the games that they played in.
00:15Let's bring in Melissa Kim.
00:16She, of course, is talking Baltimore Ravens and covering them, working for 105.7 The Fan.
00:22And I think when you look at this, I mean, for me, the bottom line is I think, Melissa,
00:30people just forget how good a coach Harbaugh is.
00:33They make adjustments over the course of the season, and it looks like they've made one
00:37pretty quickly with just giving that ball to Derrick Henry, haven't they?
00:41Yeah.
00:42You know, John Harbaugh, nearing two decades coaching in the league, right?
00:46So definitely a lot of experience, especially in terms of turning teams around.
00:50And, you know, coming into this season, there was a lot of chatter, of course, about the
00:54offensive line.
00:55They lost three guys in the offseason, three veteran guys, which is, I think, the key point
00:59So they're literally starting Andrew Voorhees at left guard, who had a red shirt ear last
01:06year in his rookie season.
01:07Daniel Fa'alele at right guard, who had his fair share at tackle, so not necessarily the
01:11guard position.
01:12So he transitioned over the guard position.
01:14And then a little mix of Patrick McCary, who is their offensive lineman that can play literally
01:20any position on that line, as well as Roger Rosengard, the rookie out of Washington.
01:24So that obviously was basically the big talker in the training camp and in the preseason,
01:31because you don't really know how these guys are going to play together, because the starters
01:34don't really play a whole lot in the preseason.
01:37They really didn't actually get going until week one.
01:39And you think about the games that they lost, right?
01:42Obviously, Kansas City literally lost by a toenail.
01:45And then in week two against the Raiders at home, a very rare occurrence for this team
01:49to lose at home.
01:51Gardner-Minch, who has had their number before, but again, a game that was close.
01:55And then they finally go on the road to Dallas, finally getting a win against Dak Prescott,
01:59and then coming back home on Sunday night football and beating arguably one of the best
02:03teams in the league in the Bills.
02:05So it obviously has taken some time for them to gel, which we expected.
02:10I think this was something that was an expectation because of the lack of reps that the offensive
02:14line got together.
02:15And now we're seeing vintage King Henry that we saw in the Titans, the guy that can literally
02:19truck through other human beings, multiple human beings, and really wear down other run
02:24defenses.
02:25Yeah, you mentioned it, the vintage part, because Derrick Henry did not look that great
02:30in his last year in Tennessee.
02:32And you would probably take the game that he had the other night and say, okay, that's
02:37the best game he's had in over a year.
02:39I think that's fair.
02:40199 yards, including an 87 yard touchdown.
02:44And as we take a look at the upcoming schedule for the Ravens, they take on the Bengals,
02:50the Commanders, the Buccaneers, the Browns, and the Broncos.
02:54And although I'm a pretty big Commander's backer now at this point, but with the way
02:58that they played beyond that, I mean, they were playing great.
03:02I can't sit here and say anything negative about them.
03:04But it does feel like out of these next five games, which we know nothing about and we're
03:07flipping coins.
03:08That's true.
03:09But it does feel like at the very worst, they should be getting three wins out of these
03:13five.
03:14Oh, absolutely.
03:16And I think that those wins are so important to stack those wins, right?
03:18You hear the team and head coach John Harbaugh talking about that a lot, because looking
03:22down the stretch, the meat of their schedule before the bye week, which is not until week
03:2715 this year, they've got a lot of really short weeks.
03:30They're playing on a Sunday and then on Thursday or a Saturday, then on a Wednesday, that Christmas
03:33day game in Houston.
03:36So they've got to really get those wins where they can right now.
03:39And obviously going into division opponent, they're never going to take the Bengals lightly.
03:42Honestly, the Bengals were my pick to win the division coming into the season.
03:45And obviously that has transpired not the way that I thought it was going to.
03:49But regardless, and then you have the commanders, as you said, I mean, it's such a great time
03:54to be a football fan in the Baltimore and DMV area because they have two dynamic quarterbacks
04:01right now.
04:02Jane Daniels is playing his tail off.
04:03I've heard from commanders fans around the area who literally have not really paid attention,
04:07a whole lot of attention to this team in the last decade.
04:11And now everybody is on the Jane Daniels train.
04:14So it's a really cool time that I think that one is the one that I'm circling on my calendar
04:18as the game to watch right now of the Ravens next five games.
04:22Yeah, look, it's undeniable that look, this could be the Houston of last year for me with
04:28Washington.
04:29At least that's the way that it feels like as their trajectory continues.
04:33So, you know, let's take a look real quick at the AFC North heading into week five.
04:37And then I do have a question about one player on Baltimore in particular that I think a
04:40lot of people are going to want to know more about.
04:44But the Steelers, they played well again last week.
04:46They sort of fumbled it away.
04:48The Colts lost to Flacco.
04:50As we mentioned, the Ravens back on track.
04:52Bengals, I don't know what to make of that win in Carolina.
04:55I still think Cincinnati's defense, Melissa, is horrible.
04:57They can't stop anybody.
04:59And I think the Browns are done.
05:00I don't think the Browns are going anywhere this season based on what I've seen.
05:03Is that a fair assessment?
05:04Am I not giving the Browns enough credit?
05:07Am I not giving the Bengals enough credit here?
05:09I feel like even though it is crowded, it is Baltimore and it is Pittsburgh there at
05:13the top, unless something happens with Cincinnati's defense, and I'm not aware of.
05:16No, Cincinnati's defense has not been the best.
05:19The Browns O-line, not been the best.
05:21I mean, almost worse than I thought it was going to be at the beginning of the season,
05:25if I could say that.
05:26The Steelers coming into this week, no offense to them.
05:29I thought they were kind of a fraudulent, undefeated team because they depended so much
05:33on their field goals, right?
05:34They weren't really getting the offense rolling.
05:37And their defense kind of had a lackluster week this past week as well.
05:40So I think it's a fair assessment to say that's the Ravens and the Steelers at this point.
05:44Because again, you go back to the coaching, right?
05:45We talked about head coach John Harbaugh in the beginning.
05:48Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season in his entire head coaching tenure.
05:52So I will never put anything past that man because even in, there was two seasons ago
05:57where he, I think was on the brink of going below 500, but ended up beating the Ravens
06:02that year.
06:03It was Ben Roethlisberger's last year.
06:05So I would never put anything past a Mike Tomlin coached team.
06:09All right.
06:10So Melissa, as we end here, the one question that I know transcends regular football and
06:15moves into fantasy football, and I'm sure you've been asked this question as well, because
06:20I need to know also.
06:21Mark Andrews.
06:22Melissa, what is going on here?
06:23Is this it?
06:24Is that, is this the end of the line here?
06:26I know Lamar is backing him and everything like that, but I mean, this, I don't know
06:30what to do here.
06:33You see my, you see my reaction, right?
06:34That's kind of been the big, if there is a cloud over the Baltimore offense right now,
06:38Mark Andrews has kind of been it because we all know that he is Lamar Jackson's favorite
06:42target.
06:43We saw him get into a lot of double coverage situations to start the season off against
06:47the Chiefs.
06:48Isaiah likely had an insane game.
06:49But no, I don't think it's the end for Mark Andrews.
06:52Absolutely not at all.
06:53I think he's still that reliable target.
06:55I think that it's taking, you know, just like the rest of this offense, it's taking
06:58a couple of weeks for him to really get going this season.
07:00So everybody that's been, you know, putting bets on Mark Andrews, fancy guys, just be
07:06patient.
07:07He said, you know, be patient.
07:08He's definitely not cooked by any stretch of the imagination.
07:10All right.
07:11I'll take your word for it, Melissa.
07:12I'm only going to give you one more week on this though.
07:14One more week.
07:15I gotta let it go.
07:16Thanks again.
07:17Sounds good.
