00:00And good afternoon to my partner, long time no see, Yusek Edu.
00:06Yes, good afternoon to you, partner, and to our viewers in Bagong Pilipinas.
00:11It's good to be back after a little while.
00:14We missed you. That was, well, a little while.
00:18Well, we want to hear about your updates because it's good that you're going to tell us.
00:23I know you've been so busy. I've been following you, news reports about you and on social media.
00:29Really going around the Philippines.
00:31And can you give us an update on your Walang Gutom food stamp program here at DSWD?
00:38Yes, partner, that's right. We've been going around the country,
00:41implementing a lot of new programs of the administration.
00:44DSWD has a lot of good new programs under the administration of President Bongbong Marcos.
00:50And one of them is our Walang Gutom 2027 food stamp program of DSWD
00:56where we provide assistance through food provision or food credits to our people who are poor or food-poor families.
01:07And like you said, we have good news because our scaled-up national implementation of the food stamp program
01:15that President Bongbong Marcos announced at his State of the Nation address this July has already started.
01:21And our target this year, from the pilot implementation last year of 3,000 households target,
01:28this year, our target will be 300,000.
01:31And so far, the past two to three months, we have registered 150,000-plus household beneficiaries
01:39in 10 regions and 22 provinces nationwide.
01:44Of these 150,000 household beneficiaries, more than 50,000 are the ones we started giving food credits,
01:55our monthly redemption of Php 3,000 per month.
02:00And we can see here on our screen, our sites,
02:05these are our implementation sites for the first year implementation of the food stamps program,
02:10including 10 regions and 22 provinces nationwide.
02:14As you can see, it includes our priority areas, concentration here in the BARM area
02:20because there is the highest rate of malnutrition and food insecurity in our country.
02:28There is a problematic area.
02:30So that's where we are targeting first.
02:32As you said, partner, I often see in Mindanao because these are our priority areas for the food stamp program.
02:39So let's go backtrack so we can remember this food stamp again.
02:43I haven't heard it for a long time because you're not here.
02:46So these are the food stamps.
02:48How much, again, you said Php 3,000 per family of how many?
02:52And how long will it last?
02:53Yes.
02:54When a family beneficiary gets onboarded, they'll be given Php 3,000 food credits per month.
03:02They'll be given Php 3,000 food credits per month to buy food for their family's needs.
03:12And this will last in the program for three years.
03:16So we're doing a very tediously designed system and mechanism where we measure that.
03:24Partner, from the start, we have a baseline, midline, and endline
03:28so that we can see the impact of the program on them.
03:31It's not just an experiential survey, a family insecurity survey,
03:36it includes anthropometric measurements.
03:39What is that?
03:40We really measure the physical measurements of our pregnant and lactating women and even children.
03:49You know, our program is the No Hunger Flagship Program Administration.
03:54This is a whole-of-government approach, partner, as you may recall.
03:57We have the Department of Health, DOLE, TESDA, and various government agencies for its implementation.
04:05So, as I mentioned, the anthropometric measurements,
04:08we also have the DOH for their experts, the barangay health scholars and nutritionists
04:17who measure the body weight, BMI, body mass index of our beneficiaries.
04:27That program is really good.
04:29It's really different when it comes to addressing the problem of malnutrition.
04:34Sometimes, we don't see a lot of words, a lot of numbers,
04:38but once you see the faces of those who are really food poor,
04:42we know that they really need this.
04:45So, we wish you all the best for this No Hunger Program.
04:49Thank you, partner.
04:50Thank you very much, Eusebio Edo, for sharing your update with us from DSWD.
