00:00On average, the eastern brown snake grows up to five feet in length.

00:08It's one of the most common venomous snakes found in urban backyards, and it's responsible

00:13for numerous deaths around Australia.

00:16Basically, this seems to be the one way out from where he's sitting, and if we sort of

00:21poke in there, it's only going to make him go deeper.

00:24So I'm going to try and use this wire to poke down over here, hopefully encourage him to

00:29come out this way, so we'll see how we go.

00:35If you start doing that, he might come shooting out here too.

00:40He's not quite ready to make the dart out of there yet.

00:45The snake appears to have moved deeper under the deck.

00:51So the team must take a more drastic approach.

03:14When I saw him curled up in the end there, I was like, yep, we're on here.

03:22The backyard is now safe for the kids when they get home from school.
