Although we have been blessed with some nice days in Manchester over the last week, we’re near the time of year now in which the heating is getting ready to be turned on.

The heating has been known to cause an argument or two, so we went out into Manchester to ask people on the street when they were willing to turn theirs on.

00:00Hi, I'm Theo with Manchester World today
00:01I'm out in the streets of Manchester asking people about their heating and that's because it can often be a bone of contention in
00:07Some households people have a set date for when the heating is allowed to be turned on
00:10But with it being a bit colder over recent weeks
00:12We want to know have people taken the plunge early has the heating been on and does it cause an argument or two?
00:18I'm always cold
00:19Yeah, I want the heating on. Because I moved into my house in like June we haven't actually turned it on at all. I think
00:26But we're gonna try not to but if we want to use it then it's not gonna be that much of an issue
00:31We might rather be comfortable and a little bit warm. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, I think like I live alone
00:36So I just I don't know. I just turn it on whenever I get cold, but I haven't gotten cold yet
00:41So I have like so many blankets in my flat. Yeah, I just try to use them until it's like I'm desperate usually
00:46It might turn it on before October
00:48But we don't have a date. It's just when it gets cold
00:52I think once it gets to kind of that point, it's like just turn the heating on it's better to do that than
00:57Suffer and potentially make yourself ill
