00:00Hi I'm Theo and this is People on the Street. Today I'm out in Manchester asking people
00:04about their favourite memories of the city. Now for people who live in and around the
00:09north they may have come here as a kid with their family and seen something great at the
00:13Arndale or gone to a great gig at the AO Arena. For those who've moved here for university
00:18we could be talking about stuff like a night out. So we're out on the streets of Manchester
00:21all we need to know is what people's favourite thing, favourite memory of the city is.
00:26I came here for the first time with my dad to check it out as a city and I just walked
00:30around by myself for the entire day and thought this is a place I'd like to study so I can
00:33remember that as probably my first memory here. I didn't get much to see before because
00:37of Covid and everything so then when I came up it was like a real surprise because I didn't
00:41know much about Manchester really. So I liked the fact that it had loads of different elements
00:46to it so I walked up here it's quite different to Deansgate, it's quite different to the
00:49locks and the redevelopment in Salford. So I thought there's like multiple aspects to
00:54the city so I thought it would be quite a good place to come and spend three years because
00:57it's certainly not boring.
00:59Okay maybe in the bus today because we were like, we don't know how to do like a smart
01:07card I don't know and one bus driver told us that we had to pay only by cash and we
01:16were like what? We don't have cash and then another one told us okay it's free you can
01:22pass here.
01:23The other day I did the Crystal Faze and that was pretty good I enjoyed that and going to
01:29Fred Aldiss is a highlight it's great loads of art supplies.
01:33It would have been when my best friend was studying here before I came here and I came
01:38down literally just for a weekend and it was such a silly little weekend but it just kind
01:42of cemented what Manchester was and it showed me the nightlife as well which was really
01:46important for me when picking where I wanted to move to and study and so on.
01:51It's attracted us because of the galleries.
01:53Yeah we came for the galleries.
01:54And the shops with all the art supplies.
01:57There's a good art shop route back to the trade station.
