Timeout recently named Manchester as one of the best 14 places in Europe to spend winter, we went out into the city to ask people if that rang true for them.

00:06And that's because this city has just been named as one of the top six places in Europe to spend the winter period
00:12So we want to know if that adds up for people, if they agree, why they agree or if there's somewhere that they'd rather go
00:18I mean, I would say that the Christmas market is big, huge
00:22But I would say the assortment is not like, you know, especially for the gifts and everything, it's not that not enough
00:28Atmosphere, not enough crafts, not enough gifts, not enough
00:33Handmade stuff. Possibly in Europe, yes
00:38I think a lot more sunny and nicer places to probably spend the winter
00:42To be fair, like yeah, I don't know. I mean, it's like it's quite a big city
00:46I wouldn't instantly come to mind when I think of like Christmas place. I think of like London
00:53But I do know like there is a Christmas market but other than that
00:57I think a lot of people come to Manchester anyway

01:05The markets are good. So I guess that's what attracts people
01:08And some more light, I think, because if compared to Edinburgh
01:12When you're in Edinburgh, it's really miracle and here is more like just markets
01:17Yeah, I've been to Christmas markets, obviously get really overcrowded and stuff, but it's nice and
01:24I like Manchester again, so I can see why it's kind of up there, but might be a bit cold and rainy
01:30Yeah, like I live in Liverpool and they have like a lot of decorations and festive stuff
01:35Like I'd say they're probably more, I'd think of that
01:39I just came back from Amsterdam and they just started up their Christmas market
01:42So they're pretty nice. It's sort of a similar vibe here
01:45I think, like especially the lighting on the trees that you see around
01:49And like the nice things stretching from building to building to the lightings
01:52I'd say yeah, that's sort of a similar vibe
01:54I'd say London, like I feel like that's like the biggest place
01:56And you're more likely to find like interesting stuff there
