00:00The Philippine National Police issued their initial statement on the security of the first four days of filing the Certificate of Candidacy.
00:09This is what Ryan Nolesillas wrote.
00:13Relatively peaceful, this is the initial assessment of the PNP regarding the ongoing filing of the Certificate of Candidacy or COC in the whole country.
00:23It started on October 1 and will last until October 8.
00:27The deployment of the police continues in the areas where the COC filed the Certificate of Candidacy or COC.
00:33The instruction of our PNP is to be vigilant, to maintain the maximum police presence in the areas of engagement,
00:42particularly in the areas where the supporters and relatives who are together during the filing are restricted
00:49to avoid any risk of starting a more dangerous situation.
00:55According to the PNP, the early implementation of the gun ban is still dependent on the Commission on Elections.
01:03The declaration of the gun ban is usually carried out during the election period.
01:08Remember, when we are under the electoral process, we have the power to make decisions.
01:16According to Paul Baderin, it is also dependent on the areas under the Areas of Concern for the 2025 midterm elections.
01:24But the PNP will submit a recommendation to COMELEC regarding this.
01:29The PNP has not yet issued a list of the Areas of Concerns,
01:33but the police will base it on the recommendations of the Areas of Concerns of 2019 and 2022 elections.
01:43Our recommendation will really depend on the latest risk assessment conducted by our field commanders,
01:50particularly those who have been identified as having intense political rivalries.
