00:00Billiard legend Efren Bata-Reyes once again set a goal to become a sport of billiards in the Olympics.

00:07Here's Bernadette Sinoy's report.

00:12In the world of strength, billiards is one of the sports that is always awaited by fans

00:17where the Filipino billiard legend, Efren Bata-Reyes, is also considered the greatest pool player of all time.

00:24At the age of 70, he was still active in the pool matches played by The Magician

00:28and he set a goal to become a sport of billiards in the Olympics.

00:32My dream is to put billiards in the Olympics.

00:35We demonstrated before, from 1991 to 1995, that we will win, but they didn't want to.

00:43Then in 1995, there was the Masconi Cup, played by the US and Europe.

00:52Reyes also set a goal to continue the career of the new generation of billiards players in the country.

00:58When asked if Reyes will represent the country again in the International Tournament,

01:03he answered the lack of carrom players in the national team.

01:06Almost all of our carrom players are gone.

01:11All of them died.

01:13The kids don't want to play carrom.

01:16They want to play pool because the money is there.

01:19That's why there's no carrom.

01:20All the carrom is for the elderly.

01:23If there are no players, I'm still the one who chooses to play,

01:26especially in the sea games.

01:28There are no other players, just me.

01:30As a tribute to The Magician,

01:33the inaugural Reyes Cup will be held this month in Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
