00:00Improving the care and management of the oncological patient with lung tumor thanks to the support
00:09of innovative and digital tools such as telemedicine.
00:13This is the goal of the Public-Private Partnership in the Management of the Oncological Patient,
00:19the project involving MSD Italy, the National Institute of Tumors of Milan and the Politecnico
00:24of Milan.
00:25The optimization of the early care and management processes of the patient allows
00:29to achieve a temporary diagnosis of the disease and to carry out an effective course of care
00:34that meets the needs of the patient and his caregiver.
00:37What we present today is a truly strategic partnership, where at the center there is
00:42the new and innovative value that will be generated by the patient, but behind there is an extraordinary
00:48collaboration where all the mutual skills, competences, experiences
00:56related to the patient himself, to be able to generate a new course of care that can
01:03create more value and therefore more life and more quality of life for all the patients
01:09who will have the opportunity to be included in this new course of care.
01:14Already a national reference center with 1,900 accesses to lung tumors, of which more than
01:19half come from different regions of Lombardy, the National Institute of Tumors looks at
01:24further innovations.
01:26Today we are talking about organizational innovation, therefore a new way of being able to see what
01:31we have done until yesterday, helped by the methodology of the Politecnico, which allows
01:36to achieve with the same resources, therefore human capital, investments, technology, a better
01:42result for our patients.
01:45We treat patients, we are here to try to free the cancer of our patients from this
01:51the possibility of optimizing resources, men, women, technology and structure is an element,
01:57it is a multiplier, therefore thanks to this opportunity that has been given to us and thanks
02:01to the organizational innovation that we put on the field.
02:03The project, thanks to the synergy between public and private actors, opens the way to a new
02:08mode of collaboration between different but complementary subjects.
02:12Politecnico has brought the skills related more to the areas of management engineering
02:18and digital health, a theme that we have been following for several years with the Observatory
02:23of Digital Health of the Politecnico, but these skills in this project we managed to
02:29put it on the ground, clearly with the very strong collaboration of the National Institute
02:35of Tumors and also to make a comparison with international realities thanks to the
02:41international network of MSD.
