00:00A familiar face, a staunch fighter for labor rights and pro-poor interests, signed up today with dismantling political dynasties as his mission.
00:09Likewise, sitting Makati Mayor Abby Binay also signed up, and education and health are her prime advocacies.
00:17Just two of the more recognizable contender and pretender bets who made their candidacies official today on the weekend of COC filing with our Joshua Garcia covered in this report.
00:30The Commission on Elections, or COMELEC, has issued a resolution regarding the withdrawal of one of the local partners in the joint venture with Miru Systems.
00:38According to COMELEC Chairman Attorney George Garcia, the project will continue without any issues despite the withdrawal of St. Timothy Construction Company from the local joint ventures with Miru Systems.
00:48Garcia stated they will follow the recommendation of their law department, which requires the remaining partners to continue or address any deficiencies,
00:55such as submitting the equivalent 10% of the lost net financial contracting capacity, or NFCC, within 10 days, to ensure no delays in the deliverables of the local joint ventures of Miru Systems.
01:25The Commission also confirmed it will accept the candidacy of Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo should she file, but will consider three factors, first, whether she is a nuisance candidate, second, if there is a petition to cancel or deny candidacy, and most importantly, the decision of the Office of the Ombudsman to perpetually disqualify her.
01:55Meanwhile, the fourth day of COC filing at the Manila Hotel Tent City, 33 individuals submitted their candidacies, including 18 for Senator and 15 for Partylist.
02:20Notable last-minute filers included Calleone de Guzman running for Senator with a platform targeting political dynasties, as well as Las Pinas Representative Camille Villar, Makati Mayor Abby Binay, and Juan Ryder Partylist Representative Bonifacio Bosita.
02:34Since the start of filing on October 1, 58 have filed for Senator and 54 Partylist.
02:39No election-related violence has been reported thus far, and the Commission expects peaceful filings to continue.
02:46Joshua Garcia, for the National TV Network, for a new and better Philippines.
