00:00The candidacy of those who want to run for the election in the next year is still ongoing.

00:15Dominic, on the 5th day of filing of Certificates of Candidacy and Certification of Nomination in Acceptance today,

00:22various party list groups and personalities formally filed their candidacies for the 2025 National and Local Elections.

00:33The first to file their candidacies today is construction worker Walito Buvier.

00:38If he wins, Buvier wants to raise the wages of skilled workers and pass a law for the poor.

00:45His candidacy was also filed today by the broadcaster Ben Tulfo who is running for Senator.

00:51According to Tulfo, serving the public is in their blood.

00:56Despite many invitations from many political parties, he ran as an independent candidate.

01:02When asked if there will be a chance that Rep. Erwin Tulfo will join him in his campaign, this is what he said.

01:11It could happen because first, I'm independent and with due respect to my brother Erwin, he is with the administration.

01:19And so, it doesn't really matter what party you are because I've always felt we're beholden to the people.

01:26And that's the reason why I didn't want to be with any party because I'm a journalist.

01:31I'm supposed to be agnostic. Party comes only second.

01:35Kabataan Party List also received the Certificate of Nomination in Acceptance

01:40where Kabataan Party List Representative Raul Manuel accompanied the new nominees

01:45led by the former student regent of the University of the Philippines, Atty. Rene Co.

01:50They passed the laws they passed such as free education in schools, free public Wi-Fi, and additional wages for BPO workers.

01:58If they will be able to sit in Congress, they will continue to support the interest of the youth.

02:05The first thing we will support and will continue to support is the rights of the students included in the Student Rights Bill.

03:30who wants their group to support motorcycle taxi drivers and other workers in the informal sector.

03:37The Dagat Partylist, which supports agripreneurs and fishermen, will run for the first time in 25 elections.

03:44Dominic, the acceptance of COC and KONA here in Manila Hotel Ten City is just over,

03:58and the press conference of the COMELEC officials is just over, led by COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

04:05According to Chairman Garcia, about 12 COCs filed for the Senator,

04:13whose total number will reach 70 or 70.

04:17As for the Partylist Group, 32 were added to the list today,

04:22whose total number, since day one, will reach 73.

04:27COMELEC still has no record of election-related violence here in the country,

04:32even though the killing of ABC President Bulacan was recorded last Thursday.

04:50Chairman Garcia also announced that the number of GENCs expected to vote in the 2025 elections will reach 20 million.

05:01According to Chairman Garcia, this number is enough to elect some Senators and Partylist Groups.

05:08Tomorrow, COC filing will continue here in Manila Hotel Ten City from 8 am to 5 pm.
