00:00The Commission on Elections is now preparing for next year's elections.

00:06This is an opportunity for all election officers to use an automated counting machine.

00:12This is what Bernard Ferrero has to say.

00:17As part of the preparations for the 2025 National and Local Elections,

00:20election officers were taught how to use the automated counting machine or ACM.

00:26They also had a hands-on experience with the new counting machine,

00:29from putting in thermal paper, powering on the ACM,

00:33printing device information, and putting in a smart card.

00:37They also tried to shade a balota and put it in the ACM.

00:41This part is important, especially from December 2, 2024 until January 30, 2025,

00:47the whole month of the information campaign of ACM's Kamilay Kaudnay.

00:51Everyone has a participation, everyone has knowledge.

00:54Everyone should know what and how these machines are used.

00:58Tomorrow until Friday, all ACMs will be delivered to Comelec.

01:03This is a month and a half earlier than expected.

01:06Earlier, we will conduct more hardware acceptance tests.

01:10We will have the necessary testing to be done on those machines.

01:16The International Certification for the system will be signed on Monday.

01:21Comelec will be able to prepare for the Mac Elections.

01:25Comelec will also resolve the local nuisance cases.

01:28They are also waiting for the approval of some declared nuisance candidates

01:31before printing the balota.

01:34Comelec is also looking at the number of voters in a barangay,

01:37knowing that the barangay chairman is a candidate for being a congressman

01:41who gave barangay certification to immigrants from other places.

01:46Meanwhile, Comelec condemned the killing of a barangay official in Cotabato City.

01:51They called on DILG and PNP to arrest the person behind the crime.
