00:03Ah, there's panic in the streets in Philadelphia right now.
00:06Why is that?
00:07Red October could be coming to an end as early as tonight.
00:10Why?
00:11The New York Mets have a 2-1 series lead over the Philadelphia Phillies,
00:14winning game number one, losing game number two,
00:17holding home field advantage in game number three,
00:19with a 7-2 victory over the Phillies,
00:21which saw a great pitching performance out of Sean Manias.
00:24Seven innings pitched, three hits, one earned run.
00:27Pete Alonso got it started with a solo home run.
00:29A lot of guys chipping in.
00:31Solid contact is winning baseball games here in the NLDS
00:36between the Phillies and the Mets.
00:37And the one thing that the Phillies have an issue with is
00:39when you have runners on base, you have to convert.
00:42They haven't been able to do that.
00:43The Mets take a stranglehold dubsy after a 7-2 victory yesterday.
00:48Capitalized conversion, that's what it's all about.
00:50Pete Alonso, another special performance,
00:52another big home run there off Aaron Noller.
00:55You highlighted Manias.
00:56He was fantastic, especially the endurance they got to see
00:59with him making it through that eighth inning.
01:01So that was a lot of rest for the bullpen.
01:03That's going to absolutely suit him in game four
01:05coming up later here for Wednesday
01:07and trying to close out this series.
01:08But this has been a sign of the times for the Mets, Donnie.
01:11I mean, you can never write off that offense.
01:14Last night, they were feeling it.
01:15They got a really good matchup.
01:17They got to Noller.
01:18And with that, 7-2.
01:20Absolutely, I guess you could say put the cleaners on him.
01:24And that's what we've seen through the series here.
01:25A lot of runs.
01:26A lot of offense.
01:27Overs, overs, overs.
01:28Not combined.
01:29Again, their last night.
01:30So suddenly for the Phillies.
01:31And, you know, Donnie, I thought this was one of the most
01:34well-rounded teams coming in to October.
01:36Just haven't found that spark in the last couple.
01:39Well, they've got a really big spot coming up later this afternoon.
01:42But the Mets were very, very impressive.
01:44And I guess for Pete Alonso, just knowing Noller so well,
01:47having that history.
01:48You know, these are two guys who have come into the league
01:50at the same time.
01:51They squared off a bit in college there as well.
01:53So for Pete Alonso, always showed up.
01:55And we've been seeing him really well there off Noller.
01:58He had the edge.
01:59Got the lean on him again there last night.
