00:00Surprised everybody else I suppose. That's the reason why it's so popular isn't it?
00:06I suppose that's the thing, they're saying it's obviously a business reason and everything, but do you think it's going to have an impact on the city?
00:13Well you've got to go in Carlsbad, I suppose, then Carlsbad took it over, Marsden took it over, then Carlsbad took it over, so probably not the best logging in the world, but what a crap that is.
00:24What impact do you think it's going to have on Wolverhampton? Because obviously it's a big name within the city.
00:31I can't give you any answer, I don't really know that one.
00:34It's a tough one though isn't it, because it's part of Wolverhampton's history for a start.
00:37Are they going to make it back soon, but somewhere else?
00:40I think that's the question, I don't know, but the Wolverhampton side is going and it's obviously going to cost a lot within Wolverhampton.
00:46Well Springfield really went, but they're still magic.
00:50So do you think the legacy is still going to remain within Wolverhampton?
00:53I doubt it.
00:55What's your reaction to finding out that Banks's Brewery is going to be closing, part of Wolverhampton's history?
00:59This is the first I'm hearing about it to be honest, I'm not too averse to the news of what's going on locally.
01:05It's a big one, I've been here for centuries, it's been part of Wolverhampton's landscape, if you go round the ring road you'll see the big Banks's Brewery sign, and it's been closed down by Carlsberg.
01:14With news like that, what impact do you think it's going to have on the city?
01:20Well I mean the first thing that comes to mind is jobs obviously.
01:23I remember I used to go to college down at the Paddington campus, I used to walk past it every day, and I used to smell all the yeast and stuff as I walked past.
01:32What's your reaction to finding out that Banks's Brewery is going to be closing?
01:36To be honest I think a lot of people who used to come to the Brewery in the street had the idea that since Carlsberg was always a brewery, it was going to be closed down.
01:47Do you feel that would be an impact at all?
01:49Absolutely yeah, I mean who would have Carlsberg if their brewery was closed down?
01:54Four or five breweries are passing down before we could take over and get anything that we could bring home.
02:00Are you still feeling the impact though?
02:05I mean it's absolutely awful, it's a massive industry in Wolverhampton, there are over 150 bakers and it's just, I can't believe that.
02:15As you said, it's not just a brewery, it's also part of the fabric of Wolverhampton.
02:20Absolutely yeah, but I mean it's an eat it, it's life, but you know, the drum will always come from the same, you can drink it in a tap, through the beer.
02:30And obviously you have a lot of people in there who have either worked for Banks's or have had time drunk Banks's over the years.
02:36What's been your reaction when you've sort of helped the people?
02:38It feels like a massive loss for me right now, everyone knows how important the brewery and the industry was to allow that to happen, and it's such a shame what's happened to it.
