00:00From the East Coast, let's take it to the desert.
00:05Utah getting set for the Black Desert Championship,
00:08the inaugural event.
00:09Keith, get us up to speed.
00:10What do we need to know about the third event
00:12for the Fall Series in this golf course?
00:15Well, we have a lot of fun every week
00:17talking about how unoriginal the PGA Tour schedule is.
00:20It's just the same events over and over again.
00:22Well, check that at the door,
00:23because this week we're going to a brand new place
00:26out in Utah, the Black Desert Resort,
00:28and their championship golf course.
00:30It is amongst the Red Mountains and the lava fields.
00:33I mean, this place is absolutely spectacular.
00:35And since we have 132 rookies in the field
00:38that have never played here before, right,
00:40we've got to look to some comp courses.
00:42The designer is Tom Weisskopf.
00:44I like TPC Scottsdale as a comp.
00:46I also like, last year,
00:48the Worldwide Technology Championship in the Fall
00:50was played at El Diamante down in Cabo.
00:52Wide fairways, a scoring fest,
00:54that's what we expect from the favorites
00:56and the guys down the board.
00:59Taking a look at this golf course,
01:00par 71, close to 7,400 yards.
01:02Keith, give us some players that we can check on
01:05to say, you know what?
01:06Hot top of the leaderboard, underdogs.
01:08What do we have this week to check out?
01:10Well, the favorites, I tell you guys,
01:11Keith Mitchell, three-putt on the last hole last week
01:13to lose, Bo Hostler, he loses in a playoff.
01:16Kirk Kitayama, he didn't even make the playoffs.
01:18He hasn't played since August.
01:20And of course, you've got Seamus Power, T11 last week,
01:23maybe, but these guys,
01:24they just can't separate from a field like this.
01:26This isn't Xander Schauffele and Scotty Scheffler.
01:29My early leans on the early line
01:30are the stud kid from Stanford,
01:32and that's Michael Thorbjørnsson, right?
01:34Sitting right there at plus 3,500.
01:36The number's been going up and down.
01:38He's extremely long.
01:39We're playing at 3,000 feet of elevation.
01:41The golf course, it will be a bomber's paradise.
01:43And the second guy is Jacob Bridgman at plus 6,600.
01:47Jacob's had three top 20s in his last four starts,
01:50and he's an excellent putter.
01:51He can certainly keep up with the scoring
01:53out there in the desert.
