00:00Hello good evening and welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. It's
00:04been quite a cold day today and turning cold again overnight particularly under
00:09clear skies across England and Wales and with light winds too we're likely to see
00:13a fair amount of rural grass frost even some pockets of mist and fog by the time
00:17we reach the morning. A different story though across Scotland plenty of cloud
00:22and plenty of showers feeding through in from the west and just a few feeding in
00:26to western parts of Northern Ireland perhaps the northwest of England and
00:29Wales too. Feeling cold across the country particularly under those clear
00:34skies and in those blustery winds around Scotland too. For much of England and
00:40Wales a cold and crisp start to Friday but plenty of bright sunshine too. Lighter
00:45winds are not feeling quite as cold as this afternoon but it will still be
00:49another cold day on offer. Still plenty of cloud across Scotland and at times
00:54across Northern Ireland still plenty of those showers these merging into longer
00:58spells of rain and even seeing some sleet and snow across the Scottish
01:02Highlands. So another cold day on offer temperatures below average and feeling
01:07particularly cold in those brisk winds in the north. As we head into this
01:12evening they'll still be plenty of clear skies across much of England and Wales a
01:17bit more cloud around and a slight breeze too so not getting quite as cold
01:21but it is still going to be another cold night on offer and still lots of cloud
01:24moving into Scotland, Northern Ireland and those showers these turning heavy at
01:29times in the west. So another cold night perhaps not as cold as it is going to
01:33get tonight. Moving through into Saturday once again there'll still be plenty of
01:39bright weather around but this area of showers these merging into longer
01:43spells of rain they're slowly going to move their way into northern parts of
01:46England. Generally turning clearer in the far north of Scotland they still
01:50can't rule out the risk of a shower and there could be some heavy spells of rain
01:53at times where where this rain does move into northern parts of England and
01:57Wales. Temperatures slightly improving across the south so turning more towards
02:02average but it is still going to be another cold day to start the weekend.
02:05For the second half we will see those showers easing we may see some rain push
02:10into western areas later still lots of fine and dry weather but another cold
02:15start likely to see some frost Sunday morning too. For more details on that
