00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. The anti-cyclonic gloom
00:05that we've seen over recent weeks does look like it's moving away as we see another area
00:09of high pressure developing into next week, bringing some brighter skies. Before we get
00:13there though, a weather front sinks its way south and eastwards, bringing some further
00:16outbreaks of rain and cloud before it's this area of high pressure that redevelops into
00:21Monday and Tuesday, bringing us some much sunnier skies than we've seen over recent
00:25weeks. Before we get there though, we do have to see that weather front sinking its way
00:28south and eastwards, so generally remaining quite cloudy to end the day on Saturday. There
00:32will be some clearer spells across parts of Scotland, could be turning a little chillier
00:36here and parts of northern into eastern, southern eastern parts of England as well, seeing those
00:41clearer spells through the early hours of Sunday morning. But remaining cloudier further
00:44west, outbreaks of rain arriving across western parts of Scotland, perhaps turning heavy at
00:49times. Under all that cloud and rain, generally still raining quite mild overnight, but when
00:53we see the clearer spells persisting, we could see those temperatures dropping down into
00:57the single figures, perhaps even a touch of frost across northern and eastern parts
01:01of Scotland. So quite a chilly start to the day here, but that doesn't last long as that
01:04area of rain pushes its way eastwards and southwards as we go through Sunday morning.
01:10The outbreaks of rain could be quite heavy across western parts of Scotland, but moving
01:13through relatively quickly as we go in towards the afternoon. The southern half of the UK
01:18generally staying a little bit drier, perhaps some brightness in places, but there will
01:21be few and far between as this weather front sinks its way southwards through the afternoon.
01:25There will be northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland that see the best of the
01:28sunshine through the afternoon, though one or two isolated showers across northern parts
01:32of Scotland later. A little bit milder than we saw on Saturday, temperatures in the south
01:37around 14 or 15 degrees and 11 or 12 further north, although perhaps feeling a little chillier
01:42in the far north with those blustery showers. As we then go through Sunday evening, that
01:47frontal band continues to sink its way south and eastwards overnight Sunday and into the
01:52start of Monday, but for the northern half of the UK, a much drier night and plenty of
01:56clear spells around too. One or two isolated showers continuing across the very far north
02:00of Scotland, but generally a dry night to come. The southern half of the UK, that frontal
02:04band lingers for a time across south Wales, southern central parts of England, so staying
02:09quite cloudy here and quite mild too under that cloud. Temperatures up in the high single
02:14figures or low double figures, but further north where we see those clear spells turning
02:17that little bit chillier again and we could see some frost to start the day on Monday.
02:23In the south, though, that cloudy and mild start with that frontal band just lingering
02:26across the very far south coast for a time, but it does eventually clear its way southwards
02:30as we go through Monday morning and into the afternoon, leaving a dry and bright day for
02:34many of us. Plenty of sunshine and blue skies on offer, which is a welcome change from what
02:39we've seen recently, and temperatures will still be a little bit above average for the
02:42time of year, 13 or 14 degrees in the south or 10 or 11 further north, but feeling much
02:47more pleasant in that sunshine. The sunshine does look like it's set to last as we go into
02:52Tuesday, but make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel to find out all the details
02:55on that later. Bye bye.
