00:37in the country.
00:38Amechi said he could no longer afford the cost of diesel and wondered how other people
00:43who may not be that privileged like him are surviving the economic situation in the country.
00:50According to Amechi, Siminanaye Fubara was accountant to Nyesomweke when he was chairman
00:56of OBU, a poor local government area in Rivers and when him, Amechi became governor, Wike
01:02brought Fubara to state-level functionality.
01:05Some close watchers have stated that what Fubara is experiencing with Wike has been
01:10the daily struggle of Rotimi Amechi with Sem Wike at the reign of good luck availing Jonathan's
01:16presidency.
01:17Some of the observers added that the actions of Wike didn't start newly and the behaviours
01:23need to be termed before it gets out of hand.
01:26Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amechi expressed his frustration over Nigeria's lack
01:32of response to the country's economic hardships.
01:35He criticised citizens for not protesting against rising living costs, noting that he
01:41personally can't afford diesel anymore due to its high price.

02:08not more vocal in their outrage, pointing to rising costs and the inability of many
02:13to afford basic necessities such as fuel.
02:17I'm angry with the citizens, people should be angry, there should be protests, we will
02:23not vote, there will be no election in our state because of the current rate of hunger.
02:29If people like us can't afford diesel, you can imagine how others are coping, said Amechi.
02:36Amechi had contested in the primaries of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to grab the
02:42party ticket for the 2023 presidential election and lost it to President Bola Tegubu.
