00:00ankle and that was pretty severe but yeah the it was a tough fight it was
00:06getting really tough in there for Ben. But even from Ben's ring walking there
00:09was a different demeanor about him, he seemed a lot more serious. Yeah yeah I
00:13mean he said he said that about me before me being the serious one doesn't
00:16work for everyone and it didn't seem to work for him tonight I think he too
00:20serious and he tried to make a big statement. I also think on investigating
00:23just trying too hard to impress because of where he was. We'll delve into that a little bit
00:27more later on. Right you can see Pavel Sheremetyev making his ring walk now so
00:31we'll hand you back to your commentary team Andy.
00:37Sheremetyev, former European champion, former world title challenger, just
00:42dipping through the ropes nice slow walk to the ring taking everything in. It's
00:49been like this all week. I'm not sure he'll really know how much he's got left
00:58but I think we're going to find out tonight I think he wants to pour it all
01:02out there. And now let's welcome to the ring from England Chris Eubank Jr.
01:19He said it himself, the bad guy is back. I'm not so sure whether people do look at
01:45Eubank and see a bad guy these days. He loves to play that kind of pantomime villain.
01:54But he knows what this is. This is show business with blood. That's what it's
02:01always been. You have to be able to fight but if you can get your head around the
02:08marketing aspect all of the other things that can go into making you a saleable
02:15asset shall we say then all the better and he has always been that. But the key
02:20point Callum is that for him to stay at this kind of stage, for his box office appeal to
02:27stay high, he still has to be capable of thrilling people in the ring.
02:33Yes, definitely, definitely. And I feel like Scott is very marketable. Personally I like him. I think he used to think he was the most
02:40hitter man in boxing but personally I like him but you know at the end of the
02:44day I still got to turn up in a fight and win and tonight I'm expecting a good
02:48performance you know this guy's only been stopped twice by Triple G and
02:53Mungu, I believe it is, two high-quality fighters so let's see if Kishu ranks up
02:58there with them.
03:02And there's the trademark, bolts over the ropes. Those two fights against Liam Smith were
03:10dramatic in the extreme for all sorts of different reasons.
03:16It was difficult to see him turning it around after he got obliterated in the
03:20first one but he did exactly that although it was over a year ago now and
03:26as you get into your mid-thirties as he said himself absences like that are not
03:31a good thing. He needs to win tonight and ideally he really needs a performance.

05:38And his opponent across the ring in this championship contest fighting tonight
05:44out of the red corner he comes to the ring wearing black with gold and weighed
05:48in the same as his opponent 159.12 pounds. Hailing from Brighton England he
05:56brings a professional record of 33 wins, three defeats with 24 of his 33 wins
06:03coming by way of knockout. Ladies and gentlemen here is the former British
06:09champion and former IBO super middleweight world champion Chris
06:17Eubank Jr.
06:21CHEERING
06:37By all you who are expecting both your forbidden instructions at all times I tell you to rate your ball gratefully.
06:42Defend yourselves at all times. Touch gloves, that's the order. Touch gloves lads.
06:45John Latham our referee for this one. Eubank in the black, Jeremeta in the red
06:52scheduled for 12 or fewer in the middleweight division.
06:57Eubank looking to move in nice and early behind the jab there went to the body then up to the head.
07:18It'll be interesting to see if there is any real difference in him under a new
07:27trainer it would seem unlikely the first fight against Liam Smith he was with
07:32Roy Jones got stopped of course second fight he was with Ryan McIntyre it went
07:38very very well but were some issues post fight with that combination
07:44potentially continuing but you wouldn't have thought so given where this fight
07:49has ended up but he's now with Jonathan Banks and looking to start a fresh hit.
07:55And down goes Jeremeta. Still looks to stay on his legs there. He absolutely does as he just backs up to the ropes on this near side Eubank with a
08:05cracking start here still two minutes remaining in the round and look he
08:11blows up a cut Jeremeta just dipping at the knees and leaning over made for that shot really.
08:20Good start from Eubank jabs on point nice and accurate with it that right
08:26hand which got the knockdown was a lovely shot just chucked it over.
08:30It's unusual not to see Chris Eubank going straight for the kill you know once he drops it or
08:34hits his opponent normally he seems to put it on him so it's unusual not to see him do
08:37that and take his time a bit. And again he just caught Jeremeta with a right
08:43hand over the top and then with the uppercut Jeremeta just trying to throw
08:47something back here since that loss to Munguia that Callum mentioned in 2021
08:53he's had six fights at no kind of level really four wins and two draws and he's
08:58in his mid 30s now too so he'll have come to the ring tonight not really
09:02knowing how much was left and he hasn't made the kind of start that's going to
09:07give him too much encouragement. It's still caught because Chris has some good
09:12shots a good one too there.
09:22I think he's head's definitely cleared now he's landed some decent shots since he got up
09:26off the knockdown.
09:30Well it's the final minute of the round.
09:47Yeah lovely double jab came in with the feet landed the right hand Eubank just backing up I think thought that was it and his left hand down low wide open down the left side right hand landed on the chin.
09:59Luckily he was moving away from the shot so that some of the stink had already gone out of it.
10:04Well I was saying that not much had happened in this round to encourage Jeremeta I think towards the back end of it a few things will have done.
10:12When you got a man when you got a man trunk that's when you muscle he already hurt anything you do when you take a step in taking a step back just giving him more energy.
10:32Keep going forward go get him out of there body head just like you did before right down the middle shoot it right down the middle get ready to go he don't want to be here no more.
10:42There you go good job deep breath let it out slow.
11:12Yeah I think the jab to the body and then the right hand upstairs will be a good shot here even a jab to the body and then the right uppercut.
11:31Nice crisp upper body movement there from Eubank but he did get caught by right hand there from Jeremeta.
11:45Right hand into the pit of the stomach there from Eubank and cuffing with the left he's nice and busy with his hands in this second round Jeremeta though just shuffling forward.
12:06I was going to say there and it's a nice crisp body shots from Eubank there the right uppercut into the pit of the stomach shot worked lovely for him.
12:24Snappy jab from Eubank there just stepped in behind a lead right uppercut which can be a bit dangerous Jeremeta though was pushed onto the back foot.
12:33Yeah even a short left hook right uppercut combination from Eubank there as he leaned in good work from Eubank.
12:47Again there's the same shot left hook right uppercut walked him onto it.
12:51He absolutely did he caught him crisply there you could see the head just judder back slightly and I did wonder whether he was in a touch of trouble there Jeremeta but he seems to have soaked it up okay.
13:03He's won that opening round 10-8 he's having the better of this second round Eubank as well and I don't want to get ahead of myself but it will be interesting to see whether he can close this out in clinical fashion because in that second fight against Liam Smith he got the stoppage but it took a while and Liam Smith went into that fight with some problems we all know that I'm not trying to take away from the win but that was the situation.
13:28Against Liam Williams prior to that he put him down early put him down a number of times but again couldn't quite manage to.
13:39Two massive uppercuts from Chris Eubank there.
13:42Yeah there's that jab to the body then uppercut after it and then the left uppercut was added to it.
13:48Decent body shot there from Jeremeta though.
13:57Closing seconds of round two.
14:05Good jab there from Eubank nice and solid.
14:28Cancer testing, scans and diagnosis fast.
14:33Questions for an expert at any hour about anything.
14:37Support that lasts for as long as it takes.
14:41Feeling your best every day starts today.
14:45Call or go online now for your health insurance quote.
14:57Just a little bit of damage above the eye there of Eubank and you can see the cut in the top of the right eyebrow.
15:07I didn't pick up exactly how that had happened in real time maybe a head clash I don't think it's going to be too much of a problem but where it's situated the blood could run down into the eye so something for him to deal with there potentially.
15:20It doesn't seem to be too deep at the minute not too much blood coming out of it.
15:27Well the referee's going to have a word with the pair of them I think about the heads and a bit of holding as well there from John Latham.
15:39I was asking the question towards the end of the previous round when Eubank rudely interrupted me with some crisp punching just as he does there with a good solid right hand.
15:47As to whether he'll be capable of closing the show because it's something that he has struggled with a bit at times during his career in recent times and this is one of those occasions where we do need to see him do it I think.
16:01Yeah well you know it was early doors wasn't it? You know he would have gone for it there and didn't get it.
16:06You've got to keep an eye on your gas tank you don't want to blow a gasket early on it.
16:10But if it does get him hurt badly again I think he does need to lock on and try and close the show.
16:14Eubank just wriggling through there and letting go with the right hand there is plenty of time I'm not saying it has to be done in the next couple of rounds but.
16:27No but I know what you're saying if he does hurt him again he might not hurt him again and it could go 12 rounds but if he does get him rocking again drop him or hurt him we want to see how can he go through the gears.
16:36Which is always a question as you get older particularly when you've been out of the ring for a while and you can just see the blood coming from that mark above the right eye.
16:50Chris seems to be getting caught with a counter every time he steps back with his hands low after just one accommodation.
17:07Gerometta just muscling forward and Eubank ends up on the canvas and you can see the blood just around the eye there and where that cut is as we said it will potentially go into the eye.
17:19It's not bleeding all that profusely at the moment but they'll need to try and get that stemmed again in the corner at the end of the round.
17:26It's got quite messy on the inside at times and with that damage Eubank will want to try and keep this a little bit more at distance possibly.
17:37Eubank's always kind of deep low and really drove up with the right uppercut. It's always been sort of a favourite of his a good punch that he lands he generates a lot of power into it.
18:01And he kind of looks so low you don't see it coming either.
18:06That was a good double jab from Eubank. The first one was low and then he flicked up with the second one and made contact and just burst into the eye line of Gerometta who didn't really pick it up until it was too late.
18:17Closing stages of the round.
18:18Joao Pataia just getting those gauntlets wrapped and usually at this point Matt I would say that this is a stage of the night where the fighter really starts to zone in and get intense but Joao Pataia is intense every second of his life so it doesn't really apply to him.
18:46I don't honestly know when he flicks the switch because it seems to be permanently flicked.
18:51Intense guy. But it makes him exciting you know he brings an intensity to the ring. He's a pretty slick boxer though as well but certainly when you're getting your hands wrapped even the calmest of fighters are tuning in at that point.
19:06Good double left hook there from Gerometta. He is having successes.
19:11And that head clash followed by the left hook. You can see the blood come just after that. That would make sense. So it is something as we mentioned for Eubank to deal with into round four.
19:25Chopping left hook there by Gerometta. I think he's definitely in this fight especially after the last round putting a bit of pressure on Chris and I think with that cut over the eye I think it is causing a few problems for Chris at the minute.
19:45He's definitely come out faster at the start of this round.
19:48Eubank just stepping in. Walking in almost. Looking for those uppercuts. Good left hand there.
19:56He's putting a lot into this round at the minute Eubank. He's setting his feet and really swinging looking to get after Gerometta.
20:04Nice change by Bob there. I think Chris did get the best of it though.
20:09Yeah he's really up the pace here Eubank and putting a lot of bite into these shots. Really planting his feet looking for power.
20:17Good uppercut there from Eubank. Two in a row. And you're right he's digging those toes and getting a lot of rotation into these punches.
20:26Now just stands off and looks to keep it a range a little bit more. Throws that jab up from the waist.
20:37Does seem to have slowed down that jab to the body a little bit and the up there that Chris is throwing does seem to have slowed down it.
20:43Careful not to get caught carrying off that.
20:56He really went out quick there as you said Matt looking to try and put a dent in Gerometta.
21:02And Gerometta came through it never looked like he was going to buckle at any point under that pretty ferocious assault.
21:10And Eubank is having to just box a little bit more within himself since then.
21:14He's tested him seeing if he'll wilt. He hasn't so now he's done the right thing to ease back again and get back behind the jab.
21:21Still only in the fourth round you know a long way to go yet so Eubank's experienced the 12 rounds many times so he knows he's very he knows exactly how to pace it.
21:42Good use of the jab from Eubank. Gerometta's waiting for an opportunity to try and close that gap.
21:49He keeps himself pretty tight pretty compact dips those knees looks to try and get low doesn't really use the jab too much himself.
21:58So he's waiting for Eubank to take his foot off the gas really and take advantage of those pockets but he's nice and busy with the lead hand here Eubank.
22:06Yeah some great level changes from Eubank. Jab to the head, jab to the body.
22:09Maybe this round he's going to keep that distance like he said with the cut above the eye would be smart for him to keep the distance a bit.
22:18Keep doing what you're doing. In other words keep your hands up. Your hands need to be a little bit higher.
22:44When you shoot them shots make them a little more compact because they're too wide right now. The more compact you'll catch them and you'll hurt them.
22:54This is your night man. This is what you want. This is what you've been waiting on. All you've got to do is keep working. That's it. Hands up and keep working. Go forward. Beautiful work. Just keep working.
23:03Nice and calm in the corner there from Jonathan Banks. What he's saying to Eubank there basically is just keep it nice and compact. Don't give anything away.
23:19Get those hands high. Throw those punches really from within the kind of framework of your own body rather than wing them in from too wide because that takes a lot of effort doesn't it?
23:29And this could go 12 for all we know. It could go deep into the fight. Jeremeta is an experienced guy. He just landed a decent combination there.
23:40What you don't want to do is go hell for leather although that's exactly what I've been encouraging him to do and blow a gasket.
23:49Well so far Jeremeta has taken what Eubank has caught with him. Eubank has landed. He's scored the knockdown and he's landed some other clean hard shots.
23:57And Jeremeta so far has taken them so Eubank is experienced enough to know not to blow a gasket by trying to force something that isn't there yet.
24:05So he's got to ease back. Get back on the jab. Bang some rounds. Get some work out of Jeremeta. Try and suck him up to the body.
24:12And maybe you'll get the opening a bit later on but at the minute he's doing the right thing here now. It's sensible to get back behind the jab.
24:28A decent jab there. Mix it up. More feints. Work the jab to the body as well.
24:35Just short with the uppercut again there Eubank.
25:06Yeah yeah it's very similar.
25:15Chris Conner did tell him to keep his hands up but he doesn't seem to be listening.
25:19Trying to chop down with the right hand there Eubank. Didn't quite make contact that time. Nice snappy jab there up from the waist. He's winning these rounds.
25:40Eubank he had that 10-8 in the opening round as well of course.
25:45Yeah I think he's definitely winning these rounds but it's not on one way traffic. Not going to hit his own way.
26:02He definitely looks to me like the fighter doesn't have the energy that he used to have.
26:06Eubank but then why would he? He's what is he 35 now? Inactive as well.
26:10Yeah that shot there seems to be saying that we're up. That's what got on the bell there.
26:40Every setback. A lesson. But this is not just about winning. This is about turning the ordinary into the extraordinary and becoming undisputed. Available now.
26:58Five rounds down here between Chris Eubank Jr. and Kamil Jeremeta.
27:14Looking at Jeremeta in the corner in between rounds there. The trainer was giving him a bit of a G up. A little bit of a pep talk.
27:22I think that this in his mind is maybe his last big night. I don't know what his plans are beyond this. He's been treading water really for the last two or three years.
27:33As I mentioned once more drawn to the two draws against fighters that really you would have expected him to beat.
27:39And I think he'll be looking to try squeeze every last drop out of himself in the second half.
27:47And see if that can be enough to make an impact if Eubank maybe slows down a touch.
27:56If he's had to work too hard to make that weight then we'll find out won't we as we head down the stretch.
28:02Yeah look at at 35 years of age the inactivity making weight. It'll be difficult if he gains weight. You know he boxed at a super weight in his career.
28:10So it will have hurt him to make 160 no doubt. And depending on how much it's taken out of him.
28:19You know we'll see he'll either the pace will stay slow and he'll just be happy jabbing and go through. Or he'll try and up the pace but will be unable to do so.
28:28I think after Eubank saying that this is a bit of a warm up fight. You would like to see him try and make a statement tonight.
28:39Agreed I think that was always the plan particularly on a stage like this.
28:47I think similar to myself if I ever fight anybody that I know has been stopped already or been stopped before.
28:53I want to stop them as well in a better fashion than they have been stopped. So I would have thought Chris would be looking to do that tonight.
29:00But the first round it looked like he was going to but he seems to definitely have slowed down a bit now.
29:08Landed the one two by Eubank that went to the left of the body. Jeremeta just crouched it landed on the shoulder.
29:15Jeremeta just working away. He's disciplined. He's organized.
29:21But he's the same kind of age. He's had some tough fights. Is he capable of just clicking into a high gear in the second half.
29:29That's really what this is about or could become about as the rounds tick by.
29:36Again Eubank is in control of this round. I don't want to be too critical of him here.
29:40But as Callum mentioned this is the kind of fight where we were looking for something spectacular.
29:48And just as I said that he puts him on his back with a lovely sharp short right hand.
29:56He was caught a little bit square there Jeremeta and he paid the price.
30:00He looks okay though as the referee allows him to continue. Eubank steps into a lead left hand the main contact.
30:07Final few seconds of the round. So Jeremeta will make it out of this one.
30:12Good uppercut there from Eubank again. And that is a very good finish to the round.
30:18Giving us an answer just when we were asking a few questions.
30:23Stars now on the ringside. That's Neymar the Brazilian footballer next to Frank Warren and Turki Alashieh.
30:37Conor Bennett on the left hand side there too. Very much into this one.
30:42Yeah good right hand there. Jeremeta caught square.
30:53Yeah Eubank, they're both through right hands and Eubank beaten to the punch.
31:01Really well timed. He didn't travel too far and the impact it had as Jeremeta was coming forward.
31:19It put him straight onto his back. He knew exactly where he was.
31:22And as he got back to his feet you could see that he wasn't particularly hurt there Jeremeta.
31:28But at half way he's lost every round. A couple ten eights.
31:34So if he's going to turn this around then something spectacular is going to have to happen.
31:39John Latham just having a quick chat with Eubank about hitting around the back of the head slightly.
31:58Chris Conor turning there to get right back to the jab and I think that's probably where he's doing his best work.
32:09Throwing those jabs, setting them up, setting them back hands up and a big up there as well.
32:14And down he goes there Jeremeta. He's taken a knee.
32:18Makes it back up to his feet but Eubank is beginning to work him over a bit here.
32:24I would like to see Chris put it on him now.
32:26Yeah two minutes left in the round as well.
32:33Jeremeta just trying to get hold which is a sensible thing to do.
32:37Eubank disentangles. He needs to find just a little bit of distance here Eubank.
32:41He doesn't want to shut down his own space too quickly because that's what Jeremeta wants him to do.
32:47He needs to get back on that jab and set those shots back up.
32:51And a good right hand there Eubank.
32:57Jab right hook.
33:02That's a good body shot again there from Eubank.
33:05You can see that one just rip across the solar plexus and again he's up quite quick there.
33:12But the referees decided that he's seen enough and waved this one off John Latham.
33:16It's the second time he's been down in the round and Jeremeta doesn't like it at all.
33:21And I can understand why he doesn't like it.
33:25But to be honest going down to a knee it left the door open for the referee to do that.
33:31It was the second time in the round he got back up quite quickly.
33:34It leads me to wonder whether he really needed the knee.
33:37But the referee have a look and he decided that enough was enough.
33:41I can understand why the Polish fighter is frustrated with that though.
33:44Especially with it being a body shot.
33:46You know he could have probably let him go.
33:48He could have probably let him go I think.
33:50Conor Ben is in the ring now.
33:54Well this was always going to happen.
33:56Conor Ben taking his opportunity to try and get into the ring.
33:59Tuki Alacek is in there as well.
34:01Conor is saying fight me now.
34:03Ben is going about this WWE style really which.
34:07Getting all WWE tonight.
34:10Will entertain Saad.
34:12Father jumps in the ring.
34:13And irritates others I think it's fair to say.
34:15But they've got security in there.
34:17So they're going to let this play out.
34:19It's good marketing for a fight between the two.
34:21Should it happen.
34:23You can't fight me like that.
34:25You get done in three rounds.
34:27Put your money on it.
34:29Put your money on it.
34:31Put your money on it.
34:33Put your money on it.
34:37Well you can hear Conor Ben there saying three rounds.
34:40Put your money on it.
34:41And as soon as he just moves that head in.
34:43At that point security has to just move in.
34:47Split them apart.
34:49Up until then.
34:52They did just let them get on with it.
34:54And that's what he came here for Conor Ben.
34:57That was his whole mission.
34:59For coming ringside.
35:01He wanted you back to win the fight.
35:03And then he wanted to get in the ring.
35:05And get right up in his face.
35:07Which is exactly what he did.
35:09Of course.
35:11That whole thing went perfectly to script.
35:13For Conor Ben.
35:15You might get to win.
35:17Get in his face after.
35:19Call him out.
35:21What do you think Conor Ben thinks of that?
35:23Do you think he's impressed?
35:25I'm not sure what he'll really make of that.
35:27Because Jeremeta as I say.
35:29He's been fairly inactive over the last few years.
35:32He's been in with poor quality opposition.
35:36And we didn't really know how much he had left.
35:39He was certainly gaming there tonight.
35:41But look at that.
35:43There's that right hander.
35:45Down he goes to the knee.
35:47Put down twice in that round by body shots.
35:50And after the second one of course.
35:52The referee decided that it was heading in one direction.
35:55And we didn't need to see too much more.
35:57And from John Nathan's point of view.
35:59Jeremeta's lost every round.
36:01And at that stage he's now been down four times.
36:03So if you were to make the argument.
36:05That he stopped it on the ground.
36:07So that he couldn't possibly win.
36:09Then that does make sense.
36:11It was a one sided fight wasn't it?
36:13He was competitive in the rounds.
36:15But Eubank was winning them all.
36:17And he was scoring knockdowns.
36:19And he was landing hurtful shots.
36:21And he took the knee.
36:23So yeah.
36:25No major complaints.
36:27Both fighters are up in the centre of the ring.
36:29I think the final announcement is imminent.
36:33But there's the clash point at the end.
36:37Which was always coming.
36:39Callum asks a good question though.
36:41Has Conor Fenn have been by that?
36:44I don't think he'll be daunted by it.
36:46I think it's fair to say that.
36:48Eubank have a job to do.
36:50And he got that job done.
36:52But I don't think it's the kind of performance that.
36:54It wasn't a scary performance.
36:56It wasn't a scary performance.
36:58Exactly.
37:00I think for me Chris Eubank has shown a lot of vulnerabilities.
37:02In his past few fights to be honest.
37:12Ladies and gentlemen.
37:14Here is the official time.
37:16One minute fifty seconds of round number seven.
37:18Our referee in charge.
37:20John Latham.
37:22Waves off the contest.
37:24Therefore.
37:26Your winner by way of technical knockout.
37:28And now the IBO.
37:30Man of the match.
37:32John Latham.
37:34The winner by way of technical knockout.
37:36And now the IBO.
37:38Man of the match.
37:39And now the IBO.
37:41Middleweight champion of the world.
37:43Chris.
37:45Eubank.
37:47Junior.
37:52So Eubank gets the win.
37:55That of course he absolutely.
37:57Needed.
37:59That was the only way things were ever going to.
38:01Move forward.
38:03We feel like maybe it is that fight with Conor Fenn.
38:05That will come next.
38:07As for where that would be.
38:09We have already decided.
38:11Ben is not currently licensed with the British Boxing Board.
38:13Of control.
38:15Chris congratulations.
38:17Got another piece of hardware there.
38:19On your shoulder.
38:21We will get to what happened after the fight.
38:23In just a minute.
38:25But your first fight in about a year.
38:27You secure four knockdowns.
38:29You get the knockout.
38:31Are you happy with that performance?
38:33I was having fun in there.
38:35To be honest I think I could have finished the fight in the first round.
38:37But it has been a year out of the ring.
38:39And it is beautiful man.
38:41I love coming out.
38:43I love the people.
38:45I love the atmosphere.
38:47I love everything about this place.
38:49I had fun in there.
38:51That was the main thing.
38:53Have fun.
38:55Work on things.
38:57And get ready for the big fight that is coming up next.
38:59It looked like you were looking for that rear uppercut.
39:01All night long.
39:03You were loading up the entire time.
39:05What were you seeing from Zeremeta.
39:07That made you believe that was the shot.
39:09I don't want to take this guy out.
39:11I don't want to keep punishing him to the head.
39:13I was working on things.
39:15Me and my coach.
39:17My new coach and Jonathan Banks.
39:19We had a glampand.
39:21It worked perfectly.
39:23And I had fun in there.
39:25What more can I say.
39:27Your first fight working with Jonathan Banks.
39:29How did you feel that partnership went?
39:31It went beautiful.
39:33You saw what happened in the fight.
39:35Easy work.
39:37You talk about what is next.
39:39This is the fight everyone wants to see.
39:41Yeah.
39:43I like that.
39:45I was having fun.
39:47I was having fun.
39:49Got cut by a headbutt.
39:51But you know it is nothing.
39:53We are having a good time out here.
39:55This is my boy.
39:57We are coming for you baby.
39:59We are going to get some of that.
