00:00Who Americans choose to be the next president and who gets to take oath on this crown in the year 2025?
00:07I'm supporting Kamala Harris.
00:10I support Kamala Harris.
00:15For me, Trump.
00:17Donald Trump.
00:24The history of the United States Capitol building begins in the year 1793.
00:30This building is the seat of the U.S. Congress, the legislative branch of the federal government.
00:37This architectural beauty attracts tourists from around the world
00:42who gets a tour of the U.S. history and its politics.
00:46We are not Americans, we are Canadians.
00:51Located on the Capitol Hill, it is surrounded by a vibrant marketplace,
00:56office buildings and much more.
00:59Built in a neoclassical style with a white exterior,
01:03Capitol building holds a major significance in the administration of the U.S. government.
01:09The U.S. Supreme Court that has become the ultimate force in the 2024 presidential elections
01:16lies in the east of the Capitol building
01:19and held sessions here until its own building was completed in 1935.
01:24Hello, I'm Prerna Shandilya.
01:25I'm standing at the east front of the humongous Capitol building.
01:29Now, this is where the entire drama happens.
01:32This is the same place, as you can see right behind me,
01:35is where 2021 January 6th riot took place,
01:38where former President Donald Trump's supporters stormed the Capitol building.
01:43And this is also the same ground where numerous U.S. presidents in the past have taken oath
01:48before assuming their office of service.
01:51Now, less than a month in the elections, it would be interesting to see
01:55who Americans choose to be the next president
01:57and who gets to take oath on this ground in the year 2025.
02:01So, who do you support this election season?
02:04Donald Trump.
02:05Kamala Harris.
02:06Um, Kamala Harris.
02:08I support Kamala Harris.
02:10Probably Trump.
02:13Who do you support, ma'am?
02:14Harris.
02:15I support Kamala Harris.
02:17Why?
02:18Because he gets things done.
02:22I believe in his policies.
02:24And the four years that he was president, I was much better off than I am now.
02:29Like, why do you support her?
02:31Why do you like her policy?
02:32Uh, I like her for everything.
02:36I think she is very honest.
02:39Uh, the other, uh, Donald Trump, I, I'm, I don't believe him.
02:46He's not, you know, saying the real things, you know?
02:52Because she's having like, um, she's helping abortion with people
02:56and she's also creating more jobs and work space
02:59and she's helping with diversity and with the border crisis as well.
03:03Um, just because it will be the first women president of the United States
03:10and seeing the bias against the women in the corporations
03:14and, you know, the world politics and stuff.
03:17I think we need some women.
03:19Because I'm more conservative.
03:22And yeah, probably I will vote for him.
03:26Why? Because I think democracy is on the line.
03:28I think everything that all the plans that they have outlaid
03:31supports democracy and the regular all-American people.
03:34And, uh, Biden and all this beautiful that they're doing and she'll continue to do it.
03:40And Tim, she, she pick a nice vice.
03:43I'm voting for Vice President Harris to make her president of the United States.
03:46I think she's done an incredible job as vice president.
03:49And it's not really more so the fact that what she has done great during her time
03:53in public service, but it's more so, um, what Donald Trump has done.
03:57So, uh, he's done horrible things to this country.
03:59So I'm proud to be voting for the greater of the two candidates.
04:02Like who do you support?
04:04Um, none of the traditional candidates.
04:07I think, uh, Chase is one of my libertarian, uh, candidates.
04:12He's the highest on my list,
04:13but neither of the predominant parties have any interest in me.
04:16If you get to be the president for one day, what would you do?
04:22Uh, I'd have to think about that one. I don't know.
04:26What I do?
04:28So I help to the meeting people.
04:33Um, oh, that's a hard one.
04:36I would help like homeless because that's a huge problem, like homelessness in cities.
04:41And I help with that as well.
04:44And like phone control.
04:45I would strive for unity in the country.
04:47It's, it's been too long where we've been divided.
04:50We need someone to bring us together.
04:51Well, I stopped the wars around the world.
04:55Oh, first thing I would do is switch, um, try to implement nuclear energy
04:59as the main source of this country.
05:01It's mind you, a green transition is what we need.
05:04We need solar, we need, um, hydropower.
05:07We need all these renewable resources,
05:08but we can't just turn off the coal mines and start switching solar.
05:12It's not feasible, but we do need a solid transition from nuclear energy to green energy.
05:18I think that nuclear energy would be a solid backbone to,
05:21from the dirty fossil fuels into green energy.
05:23So I think that would be the first thing I would do in public,
05:25in public office, trying to make nuclear energy our main resource
05:29as a backbone of our energy resource.
05:31President doesn't have a lot of power when it comes to changing things.
05:33So I just get out and see a lot of people and experience
05:37the United States and get a vibe for what the people are feeling at the moment.
