00:09This is the story of Bernadette Pinoy.
00:13The Philippine billiard star, Yohan Chua, was named champion in the 2024 Mansion Sports Hanoi Open
00:21held at the Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium in Vietnam.
00:25In the finals, the Taiwanese player, Ko Pinyi, faced off against the Filipino, Tinagriang Badkoi
00:31where Pinyi won the first rack in the tournament.
00:34Despite this, Chua's load was not weakened and took the lead in the next four racks
00:40before Pinyi took the lead again in the Race to 13 game match.
00:44In the final break, this is where Chua finished the match and won his first matchroom major title.
00:51The game ended with a score of 13-7, where Chua won the prize of $30,000 or Php 1.7 million.
00:59It was a good head start because, as I said, the three European teams were defeated in the Hanoi Open
01:07by three teams from Asia.
01:09So, it was a good head start for us that they had a defeat from us.
01:13So, that's what we'll use and hopefully, we'll be able to win the race cup.
01:18Chua was welcomed by various Filipino pool champs
01:21because he was defeated by WPA Women's World 9-Ball Champion Rubiling Amit,
01:27Las Vegas 10-Ball Open Champion Cheska da Flash Centeno,
01:31and B-Nerd Legend Francisco Django Bustamante.
01:34Although the Philippine Sports Commission gave Chua a big heart in the International Tournament,
01:40despite facing Chua and Pinyi in Hanoi,
01:45the two champions will be teammates in the inaugural Reyes Cup
01:48led by Filipino pool legend Efren Bata-Reyes,
01:51which will start tomorrow in Ninoy and Tino Stadium.
