00:00Hello there and welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. We continue to stay unsettled
00:05across much of the UK, low pressure truly in charge through this week. Looking back
00:09at the satellite and radar over the last couple of days, this swirl of cloud and heavy showers
00:15continuing to move around like a large washing machine across the UK, some thundery showers,
00:20hefty downpours in places and not much changing over the next few days either. So back to
00:26Tuesday evening, lots of showers across the UK, some thundery downpours, hail, some gusty
00:32winds associated with these showers as well. Perhaps some longer spells of torrential rain
00:37across northern and eastern parts of Scotland for a time too. This should clear away as
00:41we move into the early hours but as you can see overnight, further showers moving in across
00:46much of the UK. Some of these heavy at times so you may get woken up in the middle of the
00:50night, strong winds, some thunder and lightning and hail in there too. But there will be some
00:55clear spells in between. But overall, with a lot of showers around, a lot of cloud, temperatures
01:00holding up, winds coming up from the south 14 or 15 Celsius, a muggy feel to things.
01:06And first thing on Wednesday morning, lots of showers from the word go. Yes, there will
01:10be some sunny spells but showers will rattle through. Some of these heavy at times, reduced
01:15visibilities on the roads whilst travelling, some surface spray too. Thunder and lightning
01:20is possible almost anywhere through the day on Wednesday but plenty of sunny spells in
01:24between. Showers moving through fairly quickly on a brisk southerly wind, particularly in
01:29the west. And temperature wise, starting to turn a little fresher across the north and
01:33the west. Here temperatures between 19 and 21, still 23 or 24 and feeling humid for everyone.
01:40Through Wednesday evening, further showers across the whole of the UK, heavy in places,
01:43some thundery downpours, perhaps some longer spells of rain moving in, some hefty downpours
01:48across the east of England pushing their way northwards. In between there will be some
01:51clear skies overnight, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland, some of Scotland,
01:55Northern England, but here some low cloud and still the risk of a few showers. And another
02:00warm night to come, temperatures 14 or 15 Celsius for many of us. So a warm muggy start
02:07to Thursday morning. Showers from the word go yet again, some longer spells of rain perhaps
02:11pushing their way northwards across the east of the UK. But frequent showers for many,
02:15particularly parts of England and Wales, some thunderstorms, possible hail in there too.
02:21Temperatures overall on Thursday, high teens, low 20s, still 23 or 24, possible in the best
02:27of the sunnier skies. The chance of some longer spells of rain lingering across Northern England
02:32and Southern Scotland. So staying unsettled over the next few days. For more information
