00:00Welcome along to your national weather forecast covering the weekend, which is
00:04for many of us a bank holiday weekend and for many of us it's going to be a
00:08fine weekend of weather as well. Three days of mostly dry and bright conditions
00:13thanks to high pressure that's slowly building in from the north. There are
00:16weather fronts that will bring a little bit of rain to the northwest especially
00:20during Saturday but as I say for most high pressure in control. Let's rewind
00:26the clock however because it's not completely dry. This weather front is
00:30kind of breaking up as it moves across the country during Friday evening but
00:34still providing a few showers here and there over parts of northern England and
00:38southern Scotland. Generally though turning dry for most and clear spells as
00:43well will turn a little cool across especially Western Scotland and Northern
00:46Ireland. Temperatures here dropping down into single figures still quite warm
00:50across East Anglia in the southeast and it could just a little misty here. One or
00:53two fog patches are possible through the early hours of Saturday morning. Bear
00:58that in mind if you're heading away early for the bank holiday but that mist
01:01and fog should clear away pretty quickly on Saturday morning. It's not going to be
01:05a completely dry day. There will still be one or two showers mostly scattered in
01:10the morning over northern England, perhaps southern Scotland and through
01:13the day we may just see one or two more over parts of the Midlands and southern
01:16England but they're going to be very well scattered. I suspect most places
01:20will stay dry and with some sunny spells feeling pretty pleasant if you're
01:25out in that sunshine as well with temperatures climbing quite widely into
01:29the low to mid-twenties across England and Wales. A little cooler further north
01:33and west but even here so feeling fine in the sunshine. Now that sunshine will
01:37be disappearing steadily over northern parts of Northern Ireland and northwest
01:41Scotland as that weather front just tries to push in that will eventually
01:44bring some patchy rain especially on the north coast of Northern Ireland into
01:48parts of the Highlands, the Western Isles through Saturday evening. Elsewhere
01:53though most of us having a fine Saturday night, clear spells, temperatures mostly
01:58holding up into double figures. On to Sunday's details and for the vast
02:02majority dry fine with sunny spells. Quite cloudy across northern Scotland
02:06that weather front still around a little bit of rain at times over the Highlands
02:09the Western Isles but it should tend to peter out. Still the chance of one or two
02:13showers over northern England, eastern Scotland but again most places won't see
02:18those dry fine with some sunshine. Notice the breeze just started to pick
02:23up along the south coast that's going to be a feature of the weather through
02:25Sunday and especially during Monday. Temperatures though for most on Sunday a
02:30little bit higher widely over 20 Celsius, low 20s for northern England, southern
02:34Scotland, northern Ireland, mid-twenties further south. By the time we get to
02:39Monday well that area of high pressure is really starting to slip in but it is
02:44coming in from the north so it is bringing with it slightly cooler air as
02:48it drifts in particularly across parts of the east so a slightly fresher feel
02:53across the east by the time we get to Monday and the isobars are squeezing
02:57together so I talked about that wind picking up along the south coast and it
03:00really will be quite a feature. South coast of England but also Wales on
03:04Monday so something to bear in mind if you are heading to the coast could get
03:07quite gusty along some of those southern coasts on that Monday which is a back
03:11holiday for many of us. Sunny spells though for the vast majority a little
03:15cooler in the east. For details as we go through this weekend make sure you stay
03:20up to date and the best way to do that of course follow us on social media.
