00:00Hello there. As a reminder, we have extreme heat building into the UK through Sunday and into the start of next week with red and amber warnings in force.
00:09Impacts to health and infrastructure are likely.
00:12Ahead of this, Saturday is set to be a fine and dry day for many with prolonged intervals of sunshine.
00:18This sunshine is particularly strong with high or very high UV levels for many, so do remember to protect your skin if out and about.
00:26A bit cloudy across north-western areas with showers filtering in across Shetland and also western areas of Scotland.
00:33Temperatures here around the high teens, but further south it will be a very warm day with temperatures peaking around the high 20s.
00:42The clear skies allowing for some late sunshine into the evening for many, but the cloud beginning to filter now more across Northern Ireland and Scotland with some outbreaks of rain pushing through here.
00:52Although the clear intervals will persist overnight elsewhere, this is when we're going to start to see the heat really begin to build.
01:00And many towns and cities will be holding up into the mid-teens as we start off Sunday morning.
01:06So a fairly warm start to the day and the heat will continue to build as we push throughout Sunday.
01:12Still fine and dry across Wales and southern areas of England again with prolonged intervals of sunshine.
01:18Some rain early on for Northern England and Scotland that will begin to filter away through the afternoon, seeing some brightness then later on.
01:28Temperatures on Sunday rising potentially widely into the low 30s across areas of England and Wales.
01:3532 Celsius is equivalent to 90 Fahrenheit.
01:39And it's this heat that has prompted the first amber extreme heat warning that has been issued throughout Sunday and covers extensive areas of England and into Wales.
01:50As we move into Monday and Tuesday, a red extreme heat warning is also in force with an extension to the amber across other areas of Wales and pushing into southern Scotland.
