00:00Hello there, hope you enjoyed your Tuesday. It was a fairly fine day for many of us.
00:05The earlier satellite image shows sunny intervals persisting for a lot of
00:09locations. Just a bit more cloud pushing its way into Cornwall and Devon and this
00:14is the sign of a change that's coming our way for the rest of the week. If we
00:18zoom out we can see an expansive cloud that is waiting in the wings out in the
00:22Atlantic. This is an area of low pressure. It's going to shift its way northwards
00:27as we move throughout the rest of the week. The weather fronts bringing more
00:31unsettled conditions, showers, bands of rain. There will be gaps between those
00:35weather fronts so some drier interludes as well but more fronts never too far
00:39away to bring those showers back into the forefront. If we add more detail onto
00:44that we'll see the first front push its way northwards into Tuesday evening. The
00:49clouds spreading across Northern Ireland, Wales but particularly murky across some
00:53of the moors in the southwest and we'll see that those showers begin to develop.
00:56Some of those could be heavy as well. Underneath that it will be a fairly mild
01:02night. Temperatures in Exeter drop down to close to freezing on Tuesday morning
01:07but if we head into Wednesday morning they'll be up well above that holding
01:11around 14 degrees Celsius. Still some areas of South East England and North
01:16East England as well dropping down into single figures but it's where we see the
01:20clearest skies persisting overnight in areas of Scotland where temperatures
01:23will drop down the most and some mist and fog patches are possible. So Scotland
01:28seeing the chilliest start to the morning but also the brightest one as
01:31well and so sunny spells tending to persist across northwestern areas as we
01:36move throughout Wednesday. But the weather fronts will be pushing its way
01:40now across Northern Ireland into northern areas of Wales and the cloud
01:43tending to spread more extensively across other areas as well. Some showers
01:48pushing into the southwest for later on as well but it will still be a fairly
01:52mild day. Temperatures around 18 degrees. We do just have to though add on the
01:57strength of the winds. They will be increasing over the course of the day.
02:01These aren't mean wind speeds. Gust speeds will be higher than this but they just
02:05help highlight the areas of southwest England, Wales up into the Irish Sea and
02:10the Isle of Man as well. We'll see a fairly blustery day throughout Wednesday
02:14that just taking an edge off the temperatures a touch. As we move
02:18throughout Wednesday evening though we'll see that second pulse of showers
02:22push its way northwards then spreading again across Northern Ireland more
02:26extensively turning heavier at times. Generally the far southeast of England
02:29staying drier but the cloud is going to spread across many locations turning it
02:34into a fairly grey and murky night. The temperatures again more widely now
02:39holding up in double digits across many areas really away from north eastern
02:44areas of Scotland and that means it's going to be another mild start to
02:48Thursday morning. A fairly damp one as well for southern areas of Scotland
02:54north east England and particularly low clouds as well making it fairly murky and
02:59grey. During the day though we will see some brighter intervals develop for
03:03Wales southwest England and the winds tending to ease out a bit more so that
03:07will just help the feel of things a bit through Thursday particularly compared
03:10to Wednesday. Temperatures still around 18-19 degrees in the south holding up
03:16around 14-13 degrees in Scotland. We would normally expect temperatures to be
03:21around 12 degrees in central Scotland or 15 degrees across areas of southeast
03:26England for this time in October so we are certainly hitting above par. Things
03:32are looking to stay relatively similar for the end of the week and into the
