00:00Hello there, well it wasn't a bad Easter weekend for most of us was it? We got to see some
00:06spells of sunshine from time to time and those temperatures weren't doing too bad at all
00:09for the time of year. It's a bit more of an unsettled picture as we look out there this
00:13afternoon though with some showers breaking out across parts of England and Wales. Some
00:17of these quite heavy particularly across some southern counters of England, the odd rumble
00:21of thunder, some small hail possible here. Likewise across parts of Northern Ireland,
00:25particularly the west of Northern Ireland running up into Western Scotland we'll see
00:29a fair few showers this afternoon and again the odd heavy thundery one not out of the
00:32question. Elsewhere some sunny spells, variable amounts of cloud, lighter winds though than
00:37what we've seen over the last couple of days. So if you get out of the breeze and in the
00:40sun it shouldn't feel too bad. 12 to 14 in the north, perhaps as high as 16 or 17 towards
00:45south east England. Now the showers that we see through this afternoon will tend to fade
00:50away as they pull away towards the south west through the evening. Still the odd heavier
00:54one at first but on the whole it's becoming drier. Likewise across Northern Ireland showers
00:58fading away here and for Western Scotland too which leaves much of Northern Britain
01:02with a fair amount of clear weather to take us into tomorrow morning. Some fog patches
01:06developing across Northern Ireland, variable amounts of cloud and a few clear spells across
01:11England and Wales. Now in the countryside it will be on the chilly side first thing
01:15by first thing Wednesday morning, a touch of frost across parts of Scotland and Northern
01:19Ireland but I think we're largely frost free across the bulk of England and Wales and certainly
01:23in towns and cities, temperatures at what sixes and sevens. So it will be a chilly start
01:28for some of us into Wednesday morning, particularly across the northern half of Britain, a touch
01:31of frost first thing with that frost soon lifting underneath the strong April sunshine.
01:36And elsewhere I think after that chilly start those temperatures will come up as well. Variable
01:41amounts of cloud across England and Wales but as we move on through the day I think
01:44we'll see less in the way of cloud, more in the way of sunshine developing, certainly
01:47a sunnier day tomorrow compared to what we'll see today. A few showers are possible for
01:52parts of Wales, the West Midlands, maybe south west England but far fewer than what we'll
01:55see today. And this frontal round of rain out towards the west, not really making any
01:59inroads into Northern Ireland. So all in all, tomorrow not looking like a bad sort of day
02:03and for most of us it will be warmer too with temperatures more wide in the mid to upper
02:07teens, perhaps a 19 or a 20 cropping up somewhere across southern Britain.
02:13And into Wednesday evening then I think we'll continue to see a fair amount of fine weather.
02:17This front not really making much in the way of progress eastwards and that's because we've
02:20got this large area of high pressure towards Scandinavia and to the north of the UK which
02:24will deflect this low down towards Biscayne so bringing some pretty disturbed weather
02:28it has to be said across parts of south west Europe, Spain, Portugal, the Balearics for
02:32example. For the UK itself, well the net effect of low pressure to the south and high pressure
02:37to the north means a brisk easterly wind affecting our shores so it will be turning a bit cooler
02:42particularly in exposure to this wind but a fair amount of fine dry weather all the
02:45same.
02:46So for the end of the week then, expect a fair amount of dry weather around. It won't
02:50be universally sunny, there will be some cloud around and it will shower from time
02:54to time. That brisk easterly wind will be noticeable though particularly towards the
02:58coast where coming in off a chilly North Sea will certainly peg the temperatures back.
03:02So it's a fairly quiet week for the next few days. Of course you can keep up to date with
03:06all things weather across the Met Office website and across our social media channels. Take
03:11care.
