00:00Hello there and welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. The wind
00:03loses its sting through Tuesday and into Wednesday. At the same time high
00:08pressure exerts an influence from the southwest. The air becomes relatively
00:12mild as well, all courtesy of this warm front trapping that milder air
00:16particularly towards the south as well as the west. Notice towards the far
00:19northeast though blue colours here representing some colder air and in fact
00:24through Tuesday evening temperatures falling away quite quickly across
00:27eastern Scotland under some clearer skies and still a strong wind across
00:31these parts with some showers particularly for Orkney, Shetland as well
00:35as Caithness. Now here's that warm front delivering that cloud and rain western
00:39Scotland, southern Scotland, northern and eastern England and the rain waxing and
00:43waning across Northern Ireland. Further southwest Wales, central southern
00:47England some breaks in the cloud but wherever you are temperatures holding up
00:50coming in around six seven eight degrees Celsius so a relatively mild start to
00:54the day on Wednesday morning. So through Wednesday morning let's pick up on the
00:59cloud and also outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland, northern and eastern
01:03England, southern Scotland. Eventually this warm front will move up towards
01:07western Scotland but through the morning some brighter weather, some dry
01:10conditions but eastern Scotland not feeling too bad here and certainly the
01:14sun will come out further south and southwest away from western facing
01:18coast where you could see more in the way of cloud. Dry skies to end the day
01:21across Northern Ireland but across Pennine districts yes some cloud and
01:25patchy rain and drizzle and certainly the rain would just come and go across
01:29central northern and western parts of Scotland through Wednesday evening and
01:32overnight. But notice the UK stuck between the warm front towards the east
01:37and a cold front towards the northwest and this will mean temperatures again
01:41will be on the mild side into Thursday morning but always that rain becoming a
01:46bit more persistent on the upslopes of western Scotland through into Thursday
01:49morning. Temperatures holding up overnight yet again. So not a bad start
01:53to the day across England and Wales through Thursday with some sunshine
01:57again over the high ground we could see some patchy rain and drizzle but notice
02:02this cold front marching its way towards the UK. So through Thursday afternoon and
02:06into evening time a couple of hours of heavy rain and stronger winds as it
02:10sinks down towards the southeast. In its wake the air turns colder, the winds pick
02:14up some strength and we will see some wintry showers particularly towards the
02:18north as well as the west. So here's your city's list for Thursday. Cloudy
02:24with rain arriving in the north pushing ever southeastwards but temperatures
02:27holding up 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. In marked contrast Friday's looking a lot
02:33colder, clearer, some sunshine, some showers but look at these temperatures
02:375 to 8 degrees Celsius and then into the weekend we will see yet again some
02:41milder moments. I'll see you later bye bye for now.
