00:00Morning, a chilly start for summer, a wet start for others and basically it'll be
00:06another day of sunshine and showers today but the showers tending to fade in
00:10many places by this afternoon. Certainly this morning quite a lot of wet weather
00:14across South Wales and South West England, some heavy showers and very
00:17gusty winds through the night. They are both fading away. We'll see some showers
00:21across the southeast for a time this morning but here too becoming mostly dry
00:26by this afternoon. A few scattered showers keeping going in northern
00:29Scotland and some this afternoon will feed back across Northern Ireland into
00:33North West England, North and West Wales but for many places much of the day
00:38looking dry and fine with some decent blue sky around as well. The breeze also
00:42tending to ease in most locations, quite noticeable on some coasts and look at where
00:46it's coming from. It's coming down from the north so it is bringing chilly air.
00:49We start with a frost across parts of Scotland and temperatures struggling.
00:53Most places staying in single digits, perhaps 10, 11, maybe squeaking up to 12
00:59somewhere across southern England. Temperatures will drop pretty sharply this
01:02evening as well if you're heading out. We will see showers continuing to come into
01:06Wales, North West England through much of the evening and we'll see a few coming
01:11down the eastern side too into North East England, Northern and Eastern
01:14Scotland on that fairly brisk wind. For many though the winds will be quite
01:18light and it will be a colder night. More likely to see a frost through parts of
01:24particularly South West Scotland but also Northern England and even further
01:27south. Temperatures likely to be not far of freezing in the countryside.
01:30Temperatures in towns and cities mostly holding up a few degrees above freezing.
01:35But for many a pretty chilly start to Saturday but for many it's going to be a
01:39cracking day. There could be some mist and fog around that may take a while to
01:43clear as well where it does form. But generally speaking dry and bright sums
01:48up Saturday with some sunny spells. A few showers still coming in on that northerly
01:51wind over the Northern Isles, some from Aberdeenshire and perhaps greys in the
01:55eastern side of England. But they'll be mostly in the morning I suspect by the
01:58afternoon they'll tend to disappear. The cloud increasing down to the southwest
02:03signs of more wet weather coming in here. But as I say for most places much of
02:07Saturday dry and bright. Temperatures maybe a touch below average so on the
02:12chilly side but of course with light winds and a bit of sunshine it shouldn't feel too bad.
02:16Down to the far southwest though there is more rain coming in that will be
02:21spreading steadily across the country as we go through Sunday. For more details on
