00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been quite an unsettled
00:06second half of the weekend for many, with plenty of showers around, and these will start
00:10to fade as we head into this evening. They will persist for a time across Scotland, Northern
00:15England and Northern Wales, with further showers moving into the southwest into the early hours
00:20of Monday morning. Away from the showers, some clear spells will develop that could
00:25allow for some mist and fog patches, particularly across East Anglia and South East England.
00:32Temperatures tonight will be mild once again, particularly across the southern half of the
00:35UK. In some rural areas though, in the north, we could just see temperatures dropping into
00:40the mid-single figures.
00:43Now into Monday, and we draw our attention to this band of rain in the west. This has
00:47triggered a Yellow Weather Warning for rain across Northern Ireland, as due to some heavy
00:53bursts of rain, we could see some spray and flooding on roads.
00:58Away from the band of rain, there'll be plenty of sunny spells, allowing for some decent
01:02sunshine, particularly across central and eastern parts of England, which is where we'll
01:06see the highest temperatures on Monday, with highs of around 16 to 18.
01:12Now for anyone going trick or treating on Monday night, you might want to consider taking
01:16an umbrella or a coat with you. It will stay driest for longest in the east, though rain
01:21will move up from the south into the early hours of Tuesday, to leave quite a wet start
01:27for many on Tuesday morning.
01:30Temperatures will be similar to what we've seen over recent nights, though clear spells
01:33in the west will just allow temperatures to drop a little lower.
01:37Now for the start of November, and it's quite a wet and unsettled start, with outbreaks
01:42of heavy rain making their way north-eastwards. This will be quickly followed by showers moving
01:48into the south-west that could be heavy and maybe even thundery at times into Tuesday.
01:54But what does the rest of the week have in store? Well, not much is set to change. There'll
01:58be spells of rain or showers at times throughout the week. Windy as well, with a chance of
02:04coastal gales particularly around mid-week. Though after what's been quite a mild period,
02:09temperatures will start to trend closer to average, and may even be a touch below average
02:13for the northern half of the UK by the end of the week.
