00:00Good evening and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It has been a
00:04fine bank holiday Monday for much of the UK, but what is the weather set to be like for
00:09the rest of the week? Well, starting with tonight, showers will ease across central
00:13Scotland but further showers will affect southern Scotland and south-east England later. Elsewhere,
00:19it will remain dry with some clear spells and it's here that it will be a cool night
00:23with temperatures dipping into the single figures.
00:26Tuesday will be another largely fine and dry day, though there will be some showers
00:29across south-west Scotland, northern Ireland and south-east England at times. It will be
00:34cloudy across much of Scotland and southern and eastern England with the best of any sunny
00:38spells across central and south-west England as well as Wales. It will be a cooler day
00:43than today, especially for Scotland and north-east England, with highs of 24 in the south and
00:4818 in the north.
00:51Showers will ease through Tuesday evening to allow for a generally dry night, though
00:55it will be a cooler night than previous nights, particularly across the north.
01:00Now looking ahead to the rest of the week, it will be a settled start with high pressure
01:04dominating the weather, though by the end of Thursday and as we head into Friday, low
01:09pressure will dominate with weather fronts moving in from the north and west.
