00:00Hello and welcome to your National Weather Update and welcome to more Blue Sky.
00:04For the vast majority it will be another fine day today and more to come on Thursday.
00:09There's always one or two exceptions and the main one through Wednesday will be Northern Ireland,
00:13South West Scotland where there is more cloud and maybe even one or two showers.
00:17Clouding over a little bit too for North West England and North Wales.
00:20A cooler feel here with the breeze off the sea and a brisk breeze still blowing over the Northern Isles.
00:25Possibility of a shower in Shetland.
00:28But for the vast majority, as you can see, dry and fine with decent spells of sunshine.
00:33Quite warm in that sunshine too.
00:35Top temperatures probably South East Wales up towards the Bristol area, 23.
00:3924 is just about possible.
00:41It is cooler on some coasts.
00:43It's only where it's cloudier for Northern Ireland, South West Scotland.
00:46And a fresher feel again for the coast of North West England and North Wales.
00:50And only 11 or 12 Celsius in Shetland.
00:53So it's far from warm everywhere and it will turn quite chilly overnight.
00:57We'll have this cloud just sinking a little further south.
01:00Again, a very small chance of a shower developing over Northern England.
01:03But the cloud will start to increase slightly over parts of Eastern England.
01:07May well turn quite misty and murky over parts of East Anglia and the South East as well.
01:12With the clear skies and light winds across Central Scotland and Northern Ireland,
01:16temperatures in rural spots could dip down to 2 or 3 degrees.
01:20So quite a fresh night with a bit more cloud over Northern and Eastern England.
01:24Temperatures likely to hold up a little bit more here.
01:27But generally another fairly fresh start to Thursday.
01:30But of course the sun's up early and the sun is strong.
01:33So temperatures will soon start to rise.
01:35However, some areas may well have a pretty drab morning.
01:38Parts of North East England, especially even across the Midlands.
01:41Quite a lot of cloud here.
01:42And there is the possibility over the hills in particular of Northern England and Southern Scotland
01:47that we could just see one or two showers.
01:49But for most places it's a dry day.
01:51Yes, some cloud will develop but plenty of blue sky around as well.
01:55And the winds for most places light.
01:57Although still a brisk breeze blowing across the Northern Isles.
02:00And again here 11 or 12 Celsius at best.
02:02But most of us getting into the mid to high teens and again in the South.
02:07Although perhaps not quite as warm as Wednesday.
02:09Still up to 22, perhaps even 23 degrees Celsius.
02:13But generally most places a degree or so down Thursday compared to Wednesday.
02:18Not a great deal of change through Thursday evening.
02:20Still the very small chance of a shower over Northern England and Southern Scotland.
02:24But most places set fair, dry and fine.
02:27You can see the winds are arching round like this.
02:29Because the area of high pressure that's dominating is sitting just out to the west.
02:33So the winds going around that high like that.
02:36And this high, well, isn't really moving anywhere very quickly.
02:39It's just kind of dominating our weather patterns.
02:41This weather front will introduce a bit of cloud through the weekend.
02:44And perhaps a little bit of drizzly rain over the northwest of Scotland.
02:47But otherwise high pressure remaining in control of our weather through to the weekend as well.
02:53Just signs it might start to turn a little colder from the north.
02:57During the back end of what is another bank holiday weekend.
03:01But we'll have more on that in the 10-day trend video.
03:04That will be available on YouTube by Wednesday afternoon.
