21 November - National weather forecast presented by Annie Shuttleworth.
Transcript
00:00Good morning. Well, we will have woken up to a bit of a mixed start across the country
00:04this morning. Some fine weather in the north, but in the south, some misty, murky low cloud
00:09as a result of these occluded fronts that lingered around throughout Monday. They'll
00:13clear off throughout the rest of the day as high pressure builds in from the southwest,
00:18bringing us a settled day or so. But in the north, we'll start to see some more weather
00:22arrive with a front and some tightly packed ice bars, bringing some wetter and windier
00:27weather throughout tonight and into Wednesday as well. Through the morning, though, that
00:32ridge of high pressure is bringing Northern Ireland and Scotland a fine start, a chilly
00:36start, though, but it will slowly warm up in the sunshine. The sunshine will then become
00:41more widespread across Wales and the Midlands before arriving into more southern areas through
00:46the latter part of this afternoon. But many areas will see a fairly dry day, a few showers,
00:50particularly through the morning across the southeast, as well as potentially some drizzly
00:54rain here and there. But by and large, a fairly fine day and temperatures around average
00:59for the time of year, a little bit cooler than we've seen recently, but not feeling
01:03too bad in any sunshine. And then into the evening, that front that I spoke about earlier
01:08is starting to show its face across parts of northwest Scotland, some rain across coastal
01:13areas and the highlands as well throughout the night. And the winds will pick up as well.
01:18So it's not going to be a particularly pleasant night. Much thicker cloud, though, that will
01:21keep the temperatures up. In the south, though, by contrast, does look cloudy, but the cloud
01:26will be fairly thin. So that will allow the temperatures to still fall. So it will be
01:31a cooler night than last night, with temperatures coming close to zero. So potentially a touch
01:36of grass frost, but generally in the low to mid single figures across the UK to start
01:42tomorrow morning. And then that wetter and windy weather is going to become a little
01:46bit more dominant across northern England and Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the
01:50south, we'll see a slightly thicker cloud here and there, particularly through the morning.
01:54But by the afternoon, there's still be a good chance of some sunshine, particularly across
01:58the south coast, as well as parts of East Anglia as well. And it won't feel too bad
02:03in the sunshine, 11 or 12 degrees. Again, these are around average for the time of year.
02:07So it won't be too bad a day for this point in November tomorrow afternoon in the south,
02:12but in the north, still feeling fairly unpleasant with that wet wind and rain. And the rain
02:17totals will slowly start to build up across the northwest of Scotland, as that rain will
02:22likely continue into Thursday before it slowly clears to the south on Friday, bringing many
02:28of us a cooler end to the week and a cooler start to the weekend as well. But you can
02:32find more info on that on YouTube. Bye bye for now.
