00:00Good morning. We do have an amber rain warning coming into force later today for parts of
00:05northern and western Scotland. However, for many areas of the UK, it'll be a dry weekend,
00:11quite a mild one, but cloudy too. That's because we've got high pressure in charge from the
00:16south. That's introducing mild air from the south and west. However, it will be quite
00:20windy across the north. You can see we've got tightly packed isobars once again, and
00:24there are weather fronts close to the north of Scotland, and that's what's going to be
00:28bringing that persistent rain. It'll be lighter through this morning, but it will turn heavier
00:33this afternoon. Further south and east, it will be another dry day, but again, quite
00:38cloudy, a similar feel to yesterday through this afternoon, I think. But the wind will
00:43be stronger across more northern areas of the UK, particularly across the Pennines.
00:46We can see gusts in excess of 50 miles per hour throughout the day. With that mild air
00:52upon us, it will be another mild day, so 11s or 12 degrees, which is quite high for the
00:56time of year, particularly for more northern areas of the UK. Across the north of Scotland
01:01this afternoon is when the rain turns particularly heavy, and we do have a yellow rain warning
01:05coming into force later today and an amber warning coming into force overnight. Further
01:10south, though, it should stay dry through much of the night, some drizzly rain still
01:14continuing across northern and western coastal areas and high ground. But again, quite a
01:19lot of cloud around, so that will make for another mild start tomorrow, with temperatures
01:24not dipping much below 10 or 11 degrees for some parts of northern Scotland, as well as
01:29the west coast of Wales. And throughout Sunday, I think it'll be a similar day to today, but
01:35the cloud will be a little bit lower, so it should feel a little bit duller. However,
01:39across more northern areas of England, the rain will arrive into the afternoon as it
01:42sinks southwards from Scotland, but it will persist in similar areas of the Highlands
01:48and Argyll, and that's where we've got that amber rain warning in force. We could see
01:53totals building up in excess of 200mm, which brings a risk of landslides to these areas,
01:58which could cause some road closures, bringing travel disruption well into next week. So
02:03do take a closer look at the warnings if you are living or travelling in these areas, and
