00:00Hello. Much of the country had a wet and windy start to Wednesday, but many places are brightening
00:06up through the rest of today with some afternoon sunshine, but also a fair few showers. The
00:11messy view from space shows a lot of cloud in the satellite image and the radar also
00:16showing plenty of heavy rain earlier. And it's all slowly slipping southwards, courtesy
00:21of this weather front. So although East Anglia in the southeast had a dry morning, the rain
00:25moving in here this afternoon, but even here, tending to ease off by the end of the afternoon.
00:30Following on behind brighter skies, yes, but also a whole host of showers. And although
00:35the winds will be easing a touch, it's going to stay blustery through this afternoon. And
00:41it feels cooler out there this afternoon compared to this morning because that weather front
00:45is a cold weather front. So quite a warm, humid start because certainly because much
00:49of England and Wales. But as that weather front sinks southwards, taking its rain with
00:53it, introducing cooler and fresher conditions with many places this afternoon, seeing temperatures
00:59in the mid-teens and feeling colder than that because of that gusty wind, which will continue
01:04to throw showers into northwest England, Northern Ireland and Scotland overnight. But further
01:10south, I think the showers will tend to fade and many places will become dry across England
01:15and Wales with lengthy clear spells and the winds will start to ease a touch as well.
01:19That all adds up to a cooler night after a very warm night and a humid night. Last
01:25night, temperatures will be down into single digits and well down into single figures across
01:29the south. So a much fresher start to Thursday. But for many, certainly because England and
01:35Wales are dry and a bright start. Lots of showers, though, through the morning across
01:39Scotland, still fairly blustery here as well. For Northern Ireland, we'll see a mix of sunshine
01:44and showers, but many places won't see too many showers here during the morning. I think
01:48we'll see more in the afternoon. At the same time, we'll see showers coming into parts
01:52of England and Wales, particularly Northern England and North Wales, with much of southern
01:57England and certainly across East Anglia staying dry and bright with sunny spells and actually
02:02probably not too many showers in the afternoon across the northeast either. There will still
02:06be a fairly brisk wind blowing throughout the day. But look at these temperatures well
02:10above average for the time of year, feeling a little warmer than Wednesday. Get out that
02:15breeze in the sunny spells in the southeast, 20 degrees Celsius. That is well above average
02:20for this time of year. As we head through Thursday evening, I think we'll see a few
02:24more showers coming into southern parts of Scotland, in particular, the wind staying
02:29pretty lively across the northwest. So things turning wetter generally for Western Scotland
02:33and more showers for Northern Ireland and parts of Northern England. Whereas, again,
02:37across the south, most places staying dry. But that is another weather front which will
02:41sink south as we head through Friday. More details on that and a first look at the weekend
