00:00Hello and welcome to your morning weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:04It's going to be a chillier start out there than what we've seen throughout much of February.
00:07Scattered showers but also some bright spells.
00:10The best of the brightness is going to be across the east through the day,
00:13especially across the southeast and the Midlands.
00:16But you can also see some scattered showers feeding in from the west.
00:20Some of these showers are going to be heavy, containing the odd rumble of thunder, hail,
00:23but also turning a little bit wintry over the highest ground of Scotland, Wales
00:27and also the moors of the southwest.
00:30It is a little bit breezy out there, especially in and around any heavy showers
00:34and across the south and west, but temperatures, actually,
00:38these are what we should be seeing for the time of year.
00:41So feeling colder, but the average temperature for February.
00:45As we go through the afternoon and evening time then,
00:48showers continuing to feed in from the west,
00:51but many places further east and across central as well,
00:54turning drier, clearer spells developing.
00:57That will allow temperatures to fall underneath the light winds.
01:00We'll see some mist and fog patches around as well,
01:03with showers still feeding in to western areas,
01:06parts of the southwest Northern Ireland and the western parts of Scotland.
01:10Like I say, with the temperatures, with the clearer spells developing
01:14and the winds turning lighter, temperatures are going to be falling away
01:18so we could see a widespread frost developing.
01:22So it's going to be a chilly start to Saturday morning,
01:25any mist and fog and murk gradually fading away
01:28to leave a largely, actually, fine day.
01:31Plenty of sunshine around, we'll still see a few showers,
01:34but they're not going to be as intense or heavy
01:37and some parts actually staying largely dry throughout the day.
01:40But temperatures, again, really around average for the time of year,
01:44hopefully feeling a little bit pleasant in any sunny breaks.
01:48As we go through Sunday though, if you look out towards the west,
01:51we have got an area of cloud and rain.
01:54This looks like it's going to come through and affect most of southern areas on Sunday,
01:58with the north actually seeing the driest conditions.
